Vegetarian woman getting in shape before second pregnancy

Hi,
First, let me tell you that you have a wonderful website and thanks for sharing all the info. and videos. I am 33 yrs old and have a 2.5 yr. old daughter. My weight is 140 pounds (and I was 125 pounds before I got pregnant first time).

Now I am planning to have a second baby but want to get in shape before getting pregnant. I do exercise on and off. But I saw your videos and got very much motivated.

Do you think if I do one video of yours each day and eat healthy, I will get some good results in one month? My another question is, I am a vegetarian, so I don't eat meat or fish. So what would you recommend to eat for getting enough proteins?

Thank you for your kind letter :-), I love to read positive feedback from my readers (of course positive criticism is also appreciated). Congrats for your decision to have a second kid!

About getting in shape: you need good diet (only high quality foods) and exercise plan.

Diet for vegetarian
Tofu is very good source of proteins for vegetarians, I am sure you know this. You could put tofu in the salad, or prepare tofu soup. I have a very easy to cook recipe for tofu soup.

Ingredients for 2 portions:
½ pound of tofu
2 sticks of leek
8 mushrooms – a type you like
Water
Salt
Olive oil
Black pepper

Preparation of Tofu Soup
Cut everything on pieces you like (I prefer small pieces), put them in a pot, add some water (not too much) and leave it for 20 minutes to boil.

And this is! The soup is very delicious.

Another sources of protein for vegetarians are lentils, oat meal, all types of beans – all these have also lots of carbs, so don’t overdo them.

Nuts are rich of protein and unsaturated fatty acids which are very important for synthesis of hormones. Especially raw pumpkin seed (I put them in nuts category).

Sprouts – they are very beneficial source of amino acids, I like to prepare them like a salad – with salt, olive oil and balsamico vinegar. You can add also parsley or celery.

Good exercises plan
I recommend doing 40 minutes exercises 5 times per week. Because my workout videos are 20 minutes of length I recommend to do 2 of them Monday-Friday, and during the weekend to make long walks – in the park or in the Mall lol – no matter where you walk, just do it at least for an hour.

About the time frame: After a month you must see results from a diet and exercises, even you must see first signs of weight loss after a week. But well visible results happen after two months.
