Low Carb Diet for Women

What is a low carb diet

Low carb diet plan is one of the effective ways to lose weight.

The issues related to the most of the diets are that they are too complicated to follow, you need to spend long time in the kitchen and you must eat in exact hours.

Obviously for women this is impossible to do along with job, kids, house cleaning and other female staff!

The main purpose of the following low carb diet plan is to help busy people to lose weight without sophisticated cooking and complicated eating schedules.

Morning

Drink coffee or tea, better without sugar, but if you can’t than with a little tea spoon of sugar.

Late morning

Low fat plain yoghurt, you can stir it and drink it instead of eating.

Another option is a slice of whole grain bread with cottage cheese over it along with a boiled egg.

Lunch

This is your biggest eating for the day. On low carb diet is important to eat a lot during the day and not in the evening.

Eat a big steak (lean meat – chicken, turkey or veal) or fish (hake, salmon, trout) with enormous salad from fresh (not cooked) vegetables. Bread is not allowed – eat only meat (fish) and salad. Sauces and toppings are not allowed for the salad – add only olive oil, vinegar and salt.

Dinner

Dinner is similar to launch, but the steak (or fish) is not so big, consider smaller portion. Again you can have big vegetable salad. If you have late cravings than eat one more time app. 9-10 pm. Late eating can be only tomato salad with 4 ounces (100 grams) of cottage cheese, add some salt if you want, but nothing else.

Low carb diet weekly summary

If you eat twice a day 150 grams of lean meat – these are 300 grams per day. (Recalculate if you eat more meat per serving). There is no limitation in the quantity of meat, but it is important to know how much meat you eat per day in order to calculate for a week and prepare shopping list for your low carb diet plan.

Shopping list

  • Coffee and tea
  • 7 packs of plain (not sweetened) yoghurt
  • 4-6 pounds of lean meat or fish. It is a good idea to buy 7 different types of meat (fish) and to have different days. You don’t have to buy raw meat, you can buy some ready to eat fillet that you can pack and bring it with you at the office. For example buy – chicken, veal, turkey, pork fillet etc.
  • Vegetables – if you plan to prepare salads (or you can buy ready to eat salads). Tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, lettuce, onion, garlic, parsley etc.

Additional food which is allowed on low carb diet

  • Boiled eggs
  • Feta and cottage cheese
  • Whole grain bread – a slice or two per day. But be careful because many brands claim that but in fact their bread contains some whole grain flower, but they are not whole grain.
  • Olives – 5-10 per day.
  • Oat meal – 2 table spoons per day.
  • All fresh vegetables (boiled also are good, but fresh is better).
  • Fish
  • Raw nuts – 1 oz (25 grams) per day.

Not allowed foods on low carb diet

  • Bread which is not whole grain.
  • Sodas – they contain lots of sugar and the main issue is that unnoticeably you can drink a lot and the results is that you are still hungry and the same time you consumed a lot sugar. If you drink a lot sodas, try to avoid them and only doing this you will feel weight loss results.
  • Alcohol, even beer. The only allowed is a glass of red wine twice a week.
  • Sweets from all kinds.
  • Fried food.
  • Rice. 2-3 table spoons of rice are not a problem like a garnish to the meat, but no more than 2-3 spoons!
  • Potatoes. 100 grams boiled or baked potatoes per day is good as a substitute of whole grain bread for example. But 100 grams, no more, and no fried potatoes, no French fries, only baked and boiled potatoes are allowed.
  • Fruits contain lots of carbs. It is not a problem to eat a fruit per day, but have in mind that they are not appropriate food on a low carb diet.
  • Fruit juices – usually they have added sugar and carbs in them are more than in fruits alone.
  • Salad sauces – usually they contain sugar and fat. Avoid to add sauce to the salad.
  • Pizza, pasta, cakes, candies, puddings – if something contain dough or/and sugar, than avoid it.

Low carb diet is a difficult diet for women, especially in the week before the period when they have sugar cravings. For such moments you can prepare 1 oz (25 grams) of raisins which are instant sugar source and will save you in desperate moments.

Another trick is to eat a spoon of honey which also is quick source of sweet and you must feel sugar calm very fast.
