Exercises to Get Rid of Love Handles

# 1 Love handle exercise - Cardio

Cardio is the best exercise to tone your waist line and get rid of love handles. Spot exercising is not effective because you need to increase your metabolism to lose weight in any part of your body and aerobic exercises are the best for this goal.

Cardio helps not only to burn fat but also it tightens the abdominal muscles (love handles are part of them). While you are jogging, walking on treadmill or jumping the muscles that supports the body upright happen to be abs muscles – the upper (the area over your tummy), lower (this is your belly) and side abs (these are love handles).

# 2 Love handle exercise

For this exercise you need small dumbbells (or small bottles of mineral water). Stand up with your feet shoulder width apart. Fold arms and hold the dumbbells close to your body. Flex your hips and legs to make sure your legs remain still while bending sideways.

Bend to the left from the waist only and extend your right hand to the left. Return to the start position and bring the arm back to the body. Bend to the right in the same way and extend your left hand to the right.

# 3 Love handle exercise – Twisted crunches

This exercise is like crunches but when you raise the body twist it and touch with the elbow the opposite leg knee. Here is important not to push the neck with arms because you can hurt it.

Lightly raise the body while your waist stays firmly on the floor, lift only the upper and middle parts of your back, lower back stays on the floor.

The most important thing

Exercises will increase your metabolism and tone your muscles but if you continue to eat bad foods you can’t have lasting results. Love handles are sign that you don’t eat right. One of the measures of obesity is the size of your waist:

What waist size is risky? Undesirable waist circumferences differ for men and women.

- Men are at risk who have a waist measurement greater than 40 inches (102 cm).

- Women are at risk who have a waist measurement greater than 35 inches (88 cm).

NOTE: If a person has short stature (under 5 feet in height) or has a BMI of 35 or above, waist circumference standards used for the general population may not apply.

Of course reaching such extreme sizes is not recommended and it is better to workout 3-4 times per week for at least 30-40 minutes, eat healthy and your abs and total body will look good.
