Losing weight while in college

I am a 19 year old female who has just started college this year. I'm on the shorter side coming in at 5'1" and have always been energetic. However, as many people may know, college is not the easiest place to lose weight, with school work and eating whenever possible--mainly fatty foods (it is what is available to me)--since class times and school work throw me off schedule almost everyday.
Because I go to Rutgers University and am forced to walk great lengths to get to class, I would like to stay fit, but doing so is hard, even with the long walks.
I have not followed a diet, but I work out using videos and trying dance routines whenever possible.
I just started doing yoga to reduce the stress
that school has caused, but it does not seem to be enough.
Being able to use workout dvds in the comfort of my own home, when convenient for me, instead of having scheduled classes, would be a great help in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to keep me from gaining more weight while at school.
