I tried Jillian Michaels DVD and it is very good! Here is what to expect from this DVD.

Level 1 of 30 day shred
Every level of 30 day shred starts with warm up and ends with stretching.

What I like the most is the combination of 2 minutes strength exercises + 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute abs exercises – the whole Level 1 is based on this.

Every part of strength exercises contains exercises for different muscles, so to the end of Level 1 (27 minutes long) you workout the whole body.

Cardio is combination of jumps, boxing, jumping rope. What I like is that there are 2 girls helping Jillian Michaels to show 2 levels of challenge. Anita is doing modified versions of hard exercises to help beginners get easy into them.

Natalie does the hard versions of exercises and she looks very well!!!

Several times in the video Jillian repeats that you need to do the whole workout in order to stress your body and get fast results (30 days). If your body adapts the impact of exercises is not so strong and you don’t get fast results, that’s why you need to challenge your body.

Level 2 of 30 day shred
Again Jillian Michaels uses the same combination of strength, cardio and abs exercise but this time the exercises are more challenging (you can see that Natali sweats from the 5th minute compared to the first Level this happened at the end of the video lol).

Circuit training is challenging and while you exercises back and arm muscles you also tightened legs muscles. I can say that this is difficult workout and beginners definitely need to look how Anita is doing light versions of the exercises.

Cardio is again jumps but now you need to lift your foot and knees higher or you twist while jumping which is hard but it burns lots of calories and is good for fast results. Double jumping rope was a new exercise for me, really good and challenging!

Level 3 of 30 day shred
Here warm up is hard, it starts with double jump rope (I love this). It seems plunk position is a favorite to Jillian because she uses variations of it in all 3 Levels and I can say I learnt some new exercises. The plunk is good for abdominal muscles which are issue for almost everybody. In this video plunk is combined with exercises for breasts, arms and legs, very creative way to workout those areas!

In conclusion Jillian Michaels – 30 Day ShredJillian Michaels is very good. You get 3 workouts, each 26-27 minutes long. The exercises are well balanced and combined, so you exercise the whole body. Combination of strength, cardio and abs pulls the maximum from your body and you burn maximum calories.

Jillian talks all the time and often she stops doing exercises and explains what is important for this exercise and goes to Natalie and Anita to show you important things like proper body position, how to in/exhale, what to stress to. My recommendation is to do 2 video per day (not 1), for quicker results. You can’t go wrong with Jillian Michaels DVD.
