I weigh 230 lbs and I’m 5’1. I need to desperately lose 100 lbs because heart problems and diabetes run in my family. I can’t afford to go to the doctor for diet pills (and I don’t want to) and I can’t afford the “healthier” foods.
I work full time, go to school full time online, and I have two kids that keep me busy with their ball schedules. We are an “on the go” kind of family.
I usually eat an egg sandwich every morning for breakfast with egg, cheese, tomato, and salad dressing. I eat a ham sandwich or fast food for lunch everyday (about once or twice a week, I skip lunch).
For supper, we usually have BBQ, corn dogs, spaghetti, ravioli, pizza or anything easy and quick to fix. We may eat fast food once a week for supper.
I don’t snack and I hate sweets, especially chocolate. When I can afford it, I buy some can fruits to take for lunch as a snack but then I don’t eat anything else for lunch.
I do drink about 3 20oz bottles of some type of coke a day and the rest of the day I drink water or tea.
I want to lose the weight in a way that I won’t have to utilize diet pills to rely on and I don’t want sagging skin from losing weight either. I have bad belly bulges and I blame it on having kids but I know that’s no excuse.
If I never weigh 115 lbs again, that’s fine but for my height, I’m told a healthy weight is 120 lbs. That’s why I believe I need to lose 100 lbs. I have a hard time with this.
I try dieting and drinking lots of water and I’ll lose 2 lbs but I’ll gain it back the next week and don’t know how because I’ll do the same things.
It’s very discouraging. I believe that if I lost 30 lbs and got below the 200lb mark, I could keep it up. Do you have any suggestions or workouts that might help?

Hi Bridgett, I see your frustration and will help you to lose 100 pounds.
First, accept it will take time, the healthy rate is no more than 8 pounds per month, so for 100 pounds it will take a year or more (cause you need brake from time to time).
First you need to start eating healthy – buy lean meat, prepare it on BBQ, boiled or baked without adding any fat. Eat meat with fresh vegetables (salads, but without any souse, topping, you can add just salt and vinegar).
Stop sandwiches, drinks and anything you eat and drink usually. Eat only meat and salad and drink water, coffee and tea. Food is the main issue and you need to fix this. Even fruits contain sugar, yes it is healthy sugar and you can eat all you want from them BUT after you lose weight.
While losing weight – eat only chicken, veal, fish, lean pork and ALWAYS have salad with meat, cause it is not healthy to eat only meat, but only vegetables contain no calories and at the same time contain vitamins, minerals and fiber (fiber is important for weight loss – it makes you feel full and it cleanse your body).
You need to exercises 5 times per week – it will be difficult at the beginning and most probably you will not have the ability to follow the pace, but it not important to the the all reps, but to stay to the end of the video and try to exercise.
You will see improvement every week, you will be able to do more reps. Usually the first week of diet and exercise is the worse, so decide that you will pass the first week in any case.
My exercise videos are very short, just 20 minutes, start ny doing 1 of them morning or evening. Gradually do 2 of them (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening).
Here is the page with exercise videos.
You have many pounds to lose, and your skin will suffer, so use moisturizer EVERY day and especially after bath.
Hope this helps,
Rumi
