How to Cook Fresh Green Beans and not Spoil Your Diet

Ingredients for green beans with yoghurt (for 1 person):

  • 500 grams (a pound) young, fresh green beans
  • 500 grams yoghurt, fat app. 3-4%
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • a bunch of dill
  • red pepper

How to cook green beans with yoghurt

Wash the green beans and clean them as you cut both ends. Cleaned green beans cut on 3 pieces and put in a pot with 500 ml water (you can add more water than) and stew for 30-40 minutes. Couple of minutes before the green beans are ready, add salt, chopped garlic, red pepper and dill.

While stewing the green beans, drain the yoghurt. Wash the yoghurt cover and with a fork make holes on it. Than reverse the yoghurt package down and put it in a cup in order to drain the yoghurt (see the pictures below this recipe).

Mix the green beans with the yoghurt – you can serve this meal immediately or leave for a while in the fridge.

Green beans calories

Green beans have only 8% of carbohydrates and is very good meal when you are on protein diet or low carb diet.

In other words in the above recipe you eat only 40 grams of carbs (8%*500 grams) and this is enormous quantity of meal, you will definitely full after eating so big amount of food but at the same time you will lose weight, because green beans are healthy food.
