Help a mother and daughter to lose weight

by Meagan Bergron
(Reidsville, NC, USA)

Did I try to lose weight? Yes.
Does my mother try to lose weight? Every day.

My name is Meagan. I'm 5ft 4in, 16, female, and weigh about 130 pounds. I have a little extra junk in the trunk. There isn't much to say about me. I'm a normal sized teenager.

I'm really submitting this for the benefit of my mom. She would love the free DVDs and exercise videos! And they would help her so much.

My mom is 5ft 5in, 36, and weighs over 180lbs (last time I checked) and that's just going by what she said. (Everyone woman lies about her weight so its hard for me to give you her real weight.)

My mom works hard every day to lose weight. She counts calories. She diets. She substitutes fatty foods for healthier choices. She has seen doctors. She even goes to the gym as much as she can... but she still has a hard time losing weight. She doesn't get enough exercise and dieting is difficult for her.

I said before that my mom goes to the gym as much as she can, but, in reality, that's not enough. She has problems getting out of the house and problems with time. She'll try to go to the gym during lunch hours and in between sessions of homeschooling my brother (and she has a full time job as a college professor), but she doesn't have enough time to drive to the gym and get a good workout in her day.

A workout at home would be great for her. If she had the time and money to buy herself something for once, she would probably invest in getting workout DVDs and a set of weights, but she never buys anything for herself.

In one of your questions at the top of this submission form, you asked "...what exercises - strength or fitness?" For myself, I do fitness. I'm a dancer and soccer player and staying in fit to do those sports is my weakness... I'm always trying to "get fit."

My mom: anything. She wants to build muscle. She wants to get fit. She wants to lose weight.

Thank you for reading all of this... I promise you if we do win the free DVDs, we will not put your money to waste. We will use them, all the time, and be thankful & appreciative.
Thank you, Meagan

I really hope that this is considered. Your mom sounds like me, I never put myself first. She deserves someone to notice all the hard work she does on a daily basis. Good luck too you folks, and the best of luck.
