Diet for Vegetarians Not Vegans

Hey Rumi, I am 24 years old, my height is 5’1” and my weight is 138 pounds. I came across your site a month back, since then I have downloaded all your videos and have been working accordingly.

These are wonderful exercises and I feel lot better doing them. You always stress on good diet along with exercise for weight loss.

My problem is that I can’t eat eggs and meat regularly as it increases my body heat leading to heat boils and early periods.

But I am not complete vegan as I can eat milk, cheese and dairy products. Can you please suggest me how shall I balance my diet for weight loss?

Hi Mann, I would suggest vegetarian diet like this:

Breakfast – 3-4 spoons of oat (but real oats, not cereals, boil with 200 ml milk and add a smashed banana – this is mainly carbs breakfast (only good carbs) and should keep away sugar cravings for the whole day.

Lunch – you need to eat a lot fresh salad (I mean really a lot, vegetables are perfect food while losing weight) + 3 boiled eggs (or scrambled without fat). Instead of eggs you can have 6 oz cottage cheese.

Snack – 1 oz cheese on your choice.

Dinner – big fresh salad (or boiled green beans) with tofu.

Drink a glass of water with every meal.

Check this Penne with Cheese, Eggs and Rocket salad recipe, you can skip eggs or add just 1.

Or this Nettle and Bulgur Soup, you can replace nettle with spinach and cook it with just 1 egg, or without eggs.

Hi Rumi, i am 130 lbs right now and 5’3″ and I want to be only 110lbs. If i follow your weekly routine of different workouts HOW LONG will it take me to lose 20 lbs? Also, most of my fat is around my hips and thighs, will your exercises help me lose that fat fast? If so, in how many weeks? I think your exercises will help me a lot so i want to try them, but i want to know how much time will it take for me to lose 20lbs if i do your workouts 5 days a week and eat a balanced meal. Thankyou

Meda, you need to follow a diet plan (one of mine), because balanced meal is something that can be tricky. If you follow a diet of me and exercise 5 times per week, most probably it will take 3-4 months to lose 20 pounds.
