Am I eating healthy and enough as per my body needs?

by Jennifer
(Pleasanton,Ca,USA)

Hi there! I am a 27 year old married woman & currently a housewife. My height and weight are 5'3'' and 58kgs respectively. I have always been on workouts like aerobics, yoga, brisk walking, etc.

Currently I go to the gym every morning (started just a week back) and just doing cardio for now. I try to eat small meals in the day.

I have a banana in the morning.

I have 2 egg whites after my gymming.

Then after an hour I have some oats with a cup of milk.

Again after 1.5-2hrs I have a fruit like grapes/pear/orange.

Then I have lunch which consists of 2 wheat flour tortilas with a lentil soup and a vegetable.

Sometimes have yogurt instead of the lentil soup. Then after a break of almost 2-3hrs, I try to have a fruit, but usually I miss out on it :(

Then I have a small bowl of vegetable soup, some salad (lettuce, carrots, avacados, lime juice) and maybe a light sandwich or a light snack to go with it.

Since I have my dinner early, I prefer to have small glass of milk before hitting the bed. I want to know if I'm eating enough and healthy?

I was really toned before but now I have lost all of it :( so trying to regain it back. I try to incorporate a lot of proteins to help me get more toned.

Please let me know if I need to incorporate certain other things in my diet. I'm a non-vegetarian. Also I don't have a tight budget for eating but I am certainly conscious about spending too much on my eating. Thank you.

Hi Jennifer, sorry for my late reply but I have more than 200 unanswered questions, lots of people ask me every day.

I think you eat well, but I recommend some changes in your diet.

Morning before going to gym don't eat carbs like banana. Better eat 4-8 oz plain skimmed milk.

Than 3-4 egg whites, not 2 after the gym.

Skip oats and go to the lunch. Here you need meat protein source (chicken breasts, turkey breast, fish) with a cup of lentils (this is a good type carb) and a small vegetable salad.

After 3 hours have a snack like 100 grams pastrami (beef or pork).

For dinner have grilled lean meat (like for lunch) and large vegetable salad.

Before going to the bed you can drink a glass of milk or eat skimmed unsweetened yogurt.

Here are my diet plans, you can take ideas what to eat.

Read an article about foods that promote weight loss.

If you don't have time to go to the gym, do 2-3 of my exercise videos at home.

All the best,
Rumi
