Want to Help You Find Out the Fastest Way to Lose Weight?
Than Share Your Weight Loss Challenges
Hi, to all that want to lose weight fast. I am Rumi, born in 1975 and in my thirties I look like am in my twenties. And all these are because I eat and exercise EFFECTIVELY, without spending much time and effort. I want to share my knowledge in the most convenient way for you.
As I am constantly getting the same question from you “What is the fastest way to lose weight?”, I decided to write a SHORT ebook about it.
The book will be FREE for download
and I’ll let you know when it is ready.
The book will contain food and exercise parts
I have ideas what to include in the book, but want to be sure that this book will not lose your time (and mine).
So, please USE THE COMMENTS below to answer some of the questions bellow (or all of them), or write about any challenge you met in your weight loss journey.
Helpful questions what YOU want me to write about:
Please, use your own words and tell me where you want help, what makes you overwhelmed.
1. What EXERCISES you need – tell me which the most problematic body spots are?
2. Do you want me to record home exercise videos? How long to be (what time per day you can spend doing exercises)? Which body parts to target?
3. What is the biggest challenge when you start exercising? Do you exercise at home or gym or which of them you prefer?
4. What you eat is very important: describe your diet challenges, give examples what you eat. Tell me do you have time to cook (10 mins per day, 1 hour?), so I know what kind of food ideas to give you.
5. What you have tried and didn’t work.
6. Anything you want to share.

Hi, my problem is that i have a flat butt and lose bust. I would like to do the kind of exercises which help me to lift and my butt and reduce and tighten my bust.
Thank you
biggest problem area is my love handles, followed by my stomach. I would like there to be fun exercises. Would like it if you would include yummy healthy food, and recipes if you have them.
also if you have any extreme routines to get rid of fat quickly, that would also be a big help.
Hey Rumi! I am twenty and have gain a lot of weight in the last 2 years> I am working out now and dieting and have succeeded in losing 10 pounds. my problem is, I find it hard to stick to a plan and resist temptation. my problem areas are my abs and thighs! What can I do?
hello rumi, thanks for your email. the problem i have with my body is my pear shape. i have a size 8 top and skinny arms, my tummy is not bad, needs a bit of tone up, but my butt, my thighs and legs are a size 12. i weigh 64 kg. and i’m 1.66 tall.
i have tried to do poor diets, like cabbage soup diet etc, and i only drank the soup all day and water, if i was really hungry just an apple and that all for the whole day. i did lose weight but i couldn’t always do that diet, as in my culture, EVERYONE FORCES U TO EAT!! i am sick of having elephant legs. please help me.. my the way i cant work out at the gym comfortably because when i start running my legs start shaking and i get sooo embarrassed. and at home, when i exercise i get lazy after a couple of weeks. i have a vibration machine for the whole body. it just vibrates when i stand on it. i just got it but i don’t know if they really work or not!! i also have so much cellulite and some stretch marks on my legs from loosing weight and gaining back on. i need to tone up.
i have tried duromine to loose weight before, it really worked, i lost about 10 kg and was 54 kg. but the thing i hate is when i start to lose weight, i lose it from my face and my boobs which i hate. then it goes from my bottom but not as fast. i look really ugly when i lose it from my face and everyone says you looked betta before, and i started eating again, and now its been a year and i am back to 65 kg. i have my wedding in 2 months and i am so embarrassed of my legs, i don’t know how i am gonna wear my bikinis next to my fiancee
can you pls help me? i will be waiting for your email..
thanks a lot dear
Hi Rumi!
I love your videos bc they are quick, easy & make me feel energized. I lost a lot of weight due to stresses in my life and need to gain it back. Unfortunately I am a naturally slim person to begin with and drop another 5 lbs every time I even THINK of skipping a meal. I am very busy caring for my children, and it is challenging to meet my own health needs as well. It would be great to see a book that focused on meeting and maintaining target weight in a healthy manner rather than just encouraging people to lose weight all the time. We all need to be fit, but not everyone is starting out overweight.
Hi Rumi,
I don’t over weigh. I am 5’5″ and weigh 57 kgs. But for my body, I really wear a bigger cup size bra. Is there any way that I can reduce the size of my breasts. And my next target is my abs. I don’t have lower abs but I have a big upper tummy. My stomach looks small in the morning but when I consume anything, even water, immediately the upper tummy pops out. These are my issues. Hope you help me. Currently I don’t follow any diet plan, but I try to eat healthy and avoid junk food. I do beginners yoga routine or your exercises to give myself a variety. My workouts are for an hour/5 days a week. Thanks a lot and keep up your good work. God Bless!!
I think the biggest problem is the stomach area it looks like a pot belly.
Also the cellulite. is it true that drinking a lot of fizzy drinks or coca-cola can give you cellulite?
hi rumi thank you so much for emailing me great to hear from you! although ive only done a few of your workouts over a period of 2 weeks or so the results already are amazing! keep up the good work! my biggest challenge.. toning those legs! its seems as tho i work and work and there’s no change. could you give me any advice maybe on a few exercises i could do everyday and maybe a little diet plan??? thank you! good luck with the ebook!! xx
hi Rumi,
-my biggest problem is stomach and breasts (after pregnancy it doesn’t look like it should be)
-yes it will be great idea
-I exercise at home and my biggest problem is that after some period I get lazy or if I do not exercise for 2-3 days i do not have motivation for continuing my exercise
-i tried to lit up my breasts and I did not success
maybe I did not exercise long enough
Look forward to your ebook
hi rumi
i am quite slim, but no matter what exercise i do, i always lose weight in my breasts. i want to keep being slim and your exercises covers that but i really don’t want to lose any more of my breast size. please help
I bumped into your website and i love it lots! Time for fitness is a constraint to me and i love the idea of an EFFECTIVE home workout in just a few minutes daily. i love swimming too but that’s once in a while.
My problematic areas are my thighs, abdomen and upper arms. I would love if you could incorporate strength exercises for my knees coz they kinda hurting nowadays….but i know why….it’s bcoz of the excess weight that they are currently carrying!!
I would love a video showing workouts lasting at least 30min, 5 days a week.
My weakness is eating too much food and am not a physically active person!
Thanks so much, looking forward for the e-book.
is initiative-I have been stagnant for 3 years and now i am 47 years old. I have the desire in my mind to exercise, but my body can’t keep up with my mind anymore. It would be nice to have a video that will walk me through beginners exercise routines with emphasis on correct warm-ups and cool downs. Informative info on how long to do the beginners routine before progressing to the next stage is a definite plus! I realize this varies in people, but what are the signs that your body is READY for the next level? Hmmm…i guess it would be like a beginners exercise for non-motivated dummies?
hi rumi,
Thanks for ur work.my main problem is i got over weight after delivery,am having loop.I got fat in my butt, love handles, thighs, belly.I’m just 24 old,but am not looking like that. Please Help me.
Hi Rumi!!
I’m 36 of age, married and have 2 daughters but I look 26 as per the compliment I get from people around coz of my slim built and young looks.Things i do to keep myself look slim n young are as follows:
1- Drinking hot water instead of chilled water after every meal helps you in cutting cholesterol from your body.
2- Walking or Swimming are the best exercise to keep yourself fit, fine & slip.
Hope these few points helps you in writing your book.
Hay Rumi
The EBook will be a great help!!
1)My Problematic body part areas are:
My tummy, i cant seam to get rid of it no matter what i do…
My Butt and thighs: I exercise and diet but they aren’t shrinking, well in very tiny inches…
My Back fat, i must say that it has shrunk from the exercise, but still a little bit of loose skin, how to get rid of that…
My chubby facial cheeks, that is also a little round, how do you exercise that?
2)Yes please to the exercise video’s, that will help me see if im doing the exercises correctly and will keep me motivated seeing you doing it on the screen
And the target areas are the same as above please.
3) i exercise at home and at gym. in the morning i exercise for 15mins and then in the evening for 30-45 mins. at least 4-5 times a week.
4) i have a shake in the morning (i cant eat in the morning, its too early) which has daily nutrients i need. i have 2 snacks a day (apple/ yogurt), lunch (soup/salad) and supper (veg, protein and a little starch) NO DESSERT
supper is prepared for me, lunch i pack and take to work.
5)Ive tried patches, pills etc. What has helped me is watching what i eat and exercising… i drink 2L water a day, and weigh in on Buddyslim every Fridays (that helps) whatever amount i have lost, i treat myself (not an unhealthy treat) a treat such as a cappuccino, popcorn, dark chocolate… depends on how much was lost. the problem is having discipline…
nothing more to add
Hope to get the ebook as soon as possible
P.S. thanx for everything!!
Hi Rumi.. looking forward for your book.. my problem is I’m a foodie and i cant resist good food. being an Indian i tend to eat spicy though manage to cook less oily.. though my body is not huge and bulky (thanks to all your videos for that) yet my skin is not toned.. its still loose in all stupid places. like underarms, waist n thighs.. tried everything i can possibly do still no change.. pls help!!!
i would love to see what i can do to change my looks from your new book.. thank you..
Biggest problem spot is the waist. Basically the stomach
Yes please. Also 30 minutes is ideal
I go to the gym because at home, I get lazy
I’m Indian and would like something not totally Americanized
Hi, Rumi!!
So kind of you to email me.
My problem spot is my tummy. Have abs under my belly fat, so i don’t really want to build anymore muscle under there. I just really want to flatten my stomach to get rid of the protrusion. I am satisfied with my thighs, arms and butt.
The thing is, I don’t want to be that skinny but I just really want to flatten my tummy.>.<
I am in college, far from home and it's really hard to eat at times when we run out of money. Most of us college students live off of Cup Noodles and Ramen.
I am looking forward to your book!!
Bless you ^-^
Hey Rumi, I love the idea for a book. I haven’t been watching your video’s lately because my computer wouldn’t let me for some reason. But I would love to find out more ways to tone my stomach & try to eat healthy. Could you add something about making a good meal in a short time. I’ve been in the process of moving & right now we are waiting on the bank but we are stuck in a hotel suite till then & I haven’t been eating right because of stress & it is easier to eat fast food. Would love to see that in the book.
The biggest problems for me is that i hardly ever have time to exercise. Between school, homework, and chores I hardly even have an hour to take a shower. So quick, 10 minute exercise throughout the afternoon and evening would be ideal. The biggest spots for me that i need to work on are my arms and my stomach. Those spots just seem harder to work on. However, i have serious issues with push ups, so exercises that work out the arms without doing push ups would be amazing.
Thanks!
-I am from Egypt and women in our region are generally not very fit and this is why i was so glad to find your fitness videos full of easy uncomplicated exercises which i can do with my 6 year old daughter providing us with beautiful healthy time together . So please we need more workout videos .
- It would be really helpful to upload some beginner yoga videos just to help us relax sometimes.
-You should put a plan for other outdoor sports that you recommend on the days that we wont work out with your videos.
-As for the diet ,it would be great if you can give us an option for an all sandwich and soup diet, for sandwiches are always delicious, easy to find or make and can be packed to eat out anytime .
Hi Rumi,
I would like to thank you for taking time to upload videos and books about weight loss. I recently delivered a baby and I am looking ways to reduce my weight especially abdomen, butt and thighs. I will always be a regular visitor of your site.
Hi Rumi,,

Thanks
Puja
That is my biggest problem. I followed your plan so well that I shed 70 pounds and now need to tone my belly more. I know hard work is the answer.
Hi Rumi,
I am a 46 year old grandmother and have always been thin. Only now my age is showing and it’s all stuck in my middle section. I’ve gotten soft and tired. I started working out again and just quit smoking, too. I’m having a hard time knowing what to eat because I’m always hungry. It seems the older I get the less I want to eat the right things. I weigh about 138 lbs and am 5’2″. I want to be toned and health again. Help me!
Hi Rumi,
The lower part of my body is my biggest problem (hips, thighs and area around knees). The other area is sagging upper arm fat.
My biggest challenge in loosing weight is my tendency to find comfort in food when stressed which is most of the times.
I wish your e-book will have solutions to the issues indicated above. I know there are many more women like me who needs help.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Rumi,
My greatest challenge is that I work on the computer for more than 10-12 hours a day and this is a primary reason for adding unwanted weight.
I would like you to provide ideas for short workouts that I can do at my office and also suggest a diet plan for vegetarians. My problem areas are my thighs and abs. Would be great if you could suggest some fun exercises that beat the routine workout sessions.
Thank you, for all your videos and please keep up the good work.
Hi, Rumi.
)) So, I’ve decided I don’t want to give up sweet.. just to reduce it a bit.. which is harder.
I guess my biggest eating problem is called “Sweet” – everything that consists of sugar; the other one – nuts. I’m like sugar addicted, when there’s nothing sweet at home, I start eating sugar powder :S I can eat “sweet” all day long!
I have tried to eliminate sweet things from my life (not including fruits).. for a month.. and.. I got used with it.. but there is always some celebration, birthday or something.. when you’re forced to eat at least a candy.. and then all’s ruined down.
And what’s more – I love it.. it makes me feel happy, turns my bad mood into good
My body problem – the tummy, the “love handles”, the upper part of the thighs.
I’ve got enough muscles…The problem is the fat. So, what I need are fat burning exercises, some motivation tips and ones for better eating habits.
Greetings
Dessy
Hi Rumi,
Your videos are wonderful. My main problem is eating habits and motivation. If I do exercises for 1 week then I become lazy. After some days again I start exercising. There is no consistency. I am a 43 yr old south Indian so my staple diet consists of rice , wheat, chicken, fish and vegetables. I am totally addicted to rice which is one of the biggest problems. I can eat rice any time of the day. I need a diet which I can easily follow and exercises for my whole body. I am overweight by 25-30kg and I am scared for my health also. I have 3 meals a day, no fried stuff, use olive oil, sugar only for coffee/tea, no sweets etc. I need to reduce from my whole body ( I have a huge stomach ).I can exercise an hour / 30 minutes both times.
Thanks for your help. Will it be difficult for you write about Indian diets?
Hi Rumi,
Thanks you for your website that inspires me quite a lot and the workouts that are really useful.
My challenge is sticking to a specific time of exercising and my eating habits too.
So basically it’s just Time management and eating habits and motivation.
Thanks again for your wonderful site.
Hi Rumi
Thanks for the great articles you send frequently. Since I have joined, my life became a lot more complicated and strained. I used to eat healthy and exercise daily, but when I became a teacher, my amount of hours available for leisure decreased to 4.
I am a teacher and a full-time honnours student, and my days’ working hours are from 7 to 2. I have 3 hours then for rest and class preparation, until 5:30 pm when evening classes start. My challenge therefor is to stay healthy, especially through enough exercise for my stressful routine.
I enjoy walking and jogging the most, yet when it comes to the push, I usually bail out due to tiredness. On a good day, I would manage some cereal with yogurt and an apple, then have a lunch/dinner-in-one meal by 4. This pattern worries me, since I love being active and positive – and yes I do struggle maintaining those two aspects…
You are welcome to send me any advice that would help my situation, and im definitely looking forward to your new book.
Regards
Loria

Hi Rumi,
thanks for your concern, my problem exists in my lower part starting from the stomach. I am 33 years old, 1.65 m, and 56 Kilos.
my problem is that I have no time to do exercises, I take only the breakfast and the dinner, I do not eat night but the issue is that I used to use fats in cooking and defenetly after 2 times of pregnancy and without exercising any sports, I body becomes very loose, I have no stretching muscles. so, I need to stretch my body, because I have a problem while wearing the jeans and any tight cloths.
pls note that I work full time and have 2 kids, so I need something easy, effective and not boring.
thanks
shahenda
Hi Rumi,
Good to hear from you! I lost almost 20lbs following your diet plans and some of your videos, which is great by the way:-)I also burned a lot of calories in the gym.
My problem is controlling my eating habits, I love sweets! I’m gradually putting back body weight (cause of stress) I need to reduce two jeans sizes in the next 8 weeks, my lower body is my biggest problem.
Thanks for your time and effort.

Hi Rumi,
First of all I’d like to thank you for taking the time to make this website and your videos. I am a 17 who wants to shed about 15 pounds. I had first started using your videos for about a week and stopped for lack of motivation but decided today to restart. I would love to get some more help on reducing my “love handles” and thighs. Thank you so much for reaching out for advice to personalize you book
My problems are, I think, my eating habits and my exercise habits. I get tired early in the day, because I work full time and I have 3 children. I am a morning person, so if I wake up early I might be able to exercise. I also don’t have so much energy, so I am wondering if I would change my diet it would help me have more energy to do exercise and to lose weight. My biggest problem is my stomach! I can’t seem to lose my baby fat! I can’t wait to read your book and I love your videos!
Hi Rumi,
thanks for the concern. My Biggest problems are my arms, thighs and belly fat. I really hate dumbbells, so exercises that helps with out using dumbbells are awesome. I don’t really have time to exercise, so an exercise about and hour is totally fine with me. I don’t eat healthy at all. I hardly eat in the morning and eat late at night and they are usually heavy food. I have a tennis tryout that is coming can you help me please.
thanx Sarah
I am 56 years old. I am 5′ tall and at present weight 124lbs. I have been sick for over a year. Two years ago I weighed 167lbs. Way too much so I did something about it. Started to eat properly and exercise. I lost about 40lbs. in about 9 months. I felt great. Then I got sick. My weight was up and down..up to 135, down to 122. I am now 124lbs, thats good but i have a lot of sagging skin and have lost muscle tone from being ill for over a year. How can I get back in shape?
My biggest problem is my stomach and butt I wish I could switch them around. I don’t have any butt but I do have a big stomach like I am about 3 months pregnant. I don’t know what to eat so I nick-pick all day on fruits and snacks. I still feel like I need more food. I am 5’3 and about 132lbs. I love your video exercise workouts. I can feel my muscles stretching and tighten up but I don’t see any results. Please help me.
I am a mother of 4 boys and I work 3-4 days a week. I have about 30 minutes or so to get a healthy meal together. We eat a lot of fish and chicken and as many vegetables as I can put on the table. We live in Mexico, so beans and rice and other Mexican dishes are a staple in our household.
I workout whenever I am not super exhausted. I can find about 20 minutes a day right now to workout. My most difficult areas are my thighs and bottom. My favorite foods are chocolate and coffee. Coffee I can`t leave without, but chocolate I have cut way back on. Right now I am trying to eat as few of carbs as possible. Hope this helps. Thanks for the ebook!!!
Hi Rumi .. I’m a 26 yr old girl weighing around 60. I am 5’3 feet tall and need to lose at least 5 to 7 kgs to come to my normal weight. I am a vegetarian. My problem is I work out a lot but I cannot lose weight easily .. I workout at home itself.. I have found the workout videos helpful.
I have weight around my abs and butt which are extremely difficult to lose . so if you could suggest some exercise for that I would love it. I also have a slight back problem so cannot do weights. Its only cardio exercises I can dare to do right now. regards, Divya
I love the site.. so far it is the only one I keep comming back to. My problem is I can never stay with something for very long. I have tried the gyms, the “workout at home” videos and even bought tons of equipment to go along with it. I can not seem to find something that perks my attention that drives me to stay with it for longer then two weeks. After reading a few other comments, I agree, something dance-style would work. I love to dance. And I agree with many other comments about the food thing. I don’t eat the proper diet that I should, partly because I can not afford to do so. I have more then myself to think about when it comes to meal planning. I tend to only eat lunch and dinner, maybe a snack in between, but that is about it. I don’t eat junk food (that is not allowed in my house) and I have tried cutting down on the amount I eat. I do understand to properly lose weight one needs to decrease the amount of things going into the body then amount of energy burned, but I can not get the right.
If you could do an inexpensive diet, coupled along with some great “dance” work outs and something that begins with a whole “beginners” to “advanced” work-out. I think I may have truly found the answers I have been looking for.
Love this site and the support that everyone, even me, feel from you. Please keep up the great work!!
Hi Rumi!!
… Well the most problematic body spots in me are my thighs, my abs and my butt, I tend to store fat there….
I’m so glad to participate on this
I’d love it if you could record an intense cardio workout video or hi-low cardio video (where you do jumps, kickboxing or taebo things , or stuff like that) leaving the strength exercises for now, just cardio would be perfect
.
My biggest challenge when I start exercising is keeping it up , mainly because of the irregular schedules of college .Right now I at least try to exercise 3 times a week. I do all my exercise at home, I don’t like going to the gym or public places ( that’s why I don’t take exercise classes at school) .
I usually have like half an hour to cook , I usually try to eat 3 regular-complete foods and 2 snacks, most of my carbs in the morning,
proteins and veggies in the evening and mainly proteins at night. My snacks are usually fruits, yogurt or cereal bars.
I tried reducing my calories but I just got hungrier and couldn’t keep doing exercise constantly (because of my lack of energy)
Hope this helps Rumi cause you’ve already helped me a lot with your site and videos
!
I’m looking for lots of dvd’s that have a variety of strength building exercises on them so I will never get bored of the same old routine. If the exercises have to be pretty much the same then even if the music is different or the pace or the person that would be enough of a change. I get sick of doing the same old thing over and over. Maybe a dvd that has one weights workout, one yoga, one pilates etc and each workout covers many body areas and maybe only 10 mins each so you could do 10 mins weights in the morning, 10 pilates at lunch and 10 yoga before tea??? that would be perfect! Any aerobic stuff I’m happy just going on a walk, run, hike etc outdoors but these dvds would be good for inside days.
1. The most problematic body part would definitely be the lower abs, hips, butt and upper thighs. I’m also 160lbs and 5’8″ AND A SIZE 8 IN JEANS.
2. Home exercise videos would be nice, because it’s not always easy to do know how to do the exercises. As for length, I think the best would be short ones, maybe 10-15 minutes so that you could do just one if you’re busy, but if you had time, you could do more.
3. The biggest challenge would be motivation definitely. and my preference is to workout at home, for sure.
4. I’m a student and so have very little time a cooking equipment. The biggest challenge is once again motivation.
5. Cutting a lot of carbs from my diet,so that I was eating only meat and veggies. it worked for a week, but it was impossible in the long-term.
6. Thank-you!
Hi Rumi,
I have a hard time burning fat and toning my stomach. I like pilates. I like to see more exercise videos I always like to change up my routine so it’s not the same thing over and over.
Thank you for all you do,
Maria
I am 17 and I was raised being able to eat whatever I want, so now when I try to eat healthy, I can never stick to it. I also think I eat too much because it feels like I am always snacking on something. What are some tips on eating healthy. What are some fast and simple meals, because I’m always on the move and I think that’s why I’m always grabbing snacks. Also, what is an exercises to slim thighs!!
Hi Rumi,
So glad I found your website, love your exercise
videos. I’m 55, 5’4″,166 lbs. and have had trouble with weight since having my children. Menopause has only made it more difficult. I love healthy foods and I take the time to prepare my meals. My weakness is chocolate. Would love some recipes for healthy sweets without too much sugar.I also have back problems and see a chiro on a monthly basis. Have to be careful with exercising and too long walks. I tend to carry my
weight evenly, but carrying more around my waist and hips since menopause. I’m told my shape is hourglass, would love to get rid of cellulite on thighs, hips and stomach. In the past year I have
lost only 9 lbs. It’s frustrating to not be able
to lose faster. Would love some suggestions for
someone my age.
Keep up the good work!
hey just wanted 2 write you back and don’t worry about bothering me. I am still interested so getting to read your new ebook would be great. I know it will be great.
thanks a lot Crystal
hello Rumi, my name is jasmine. 16 years of age.
here are my answers to your questions.
1. I have always been slim, but my problem is that my belly grows to the front. A pot belly I can say. Recently, its the fattest I’ve grown,(and its not A LOT, but I’m starting to get stretchmarks. :[ ) I’m really starting to get disgusted by myself. I also want to lose the fat that I’m growing on my upper back. My thighs have cellulite and I hate that as well.
2. I would love to see home exercise videos.
(I hope they work though because on my windows media player, your other videos never loaded.)
I can do exercises in the afternoon, I would like to do an hour daily. And if you can please target the problems I mentioned above.
3. my BIGGEST challenge when exercising at home is MOTIVATION. I cannot do exercise without motivation. I use to be in the gym, and I prefer it a million times, simply because I would get motivated by seing all people exercising, and seeing all the machines. Lately I HAVE been motivated, though. with the workout routine videos.
4. I have a VERY poor diet. I eat a lot of flour and sweets. I hardly eat real food. I eat things like cereal, sandwiches, and then cereal again. I don’t really eat vegetables either, but I do take vitamins. Drinks, I hardly ever drink water. I do not drink black sodas, just squirt or orange soda, V8 juices, and ice tea. I believe my poor diet has slowed down my metabolism..as back then when I had a fast one, I had no fat.
I have plenty of time to cook, 2 hours a day or more.
5. Actually, I think anything will work for me, since I’m young its easier to lose weight.
6. I appreciate that you do this for us. I hope you can help me. I look forward to reading the ebook. thank you.
After years of maintaining good discipline of aerobics five times a week, and weights three times a week, my skin is starting to sag and allow the fat to be uncomfortably floppy. I am a few weeks short of my 53rd birthday, and about 15 months ago I became a widow.
I am pleased to say that I have not gained weight, but I am not in good shape. I know doing weights three times a day would improve this problem within a couple of months, but I have no discipline. I have motivation, I want to feel better, but I just don’t do it.
1. I need to do 20-30 minutes of low impact aerobics every day, and stretching, especially touching my toes. I enjoy doing weights and learned in past experience that weight training is the easiest way to re-sculpt your body. For quick time-to-result benefits, you can’t beat weight training.
2. I like to exercise in the morning. If I do a workout as soon as I get up, I do it fine, if I hesitate at all, I don’t seem to get back to it later in the day. I enjoy doing your videos, but I can’t see the screen from the floor, so sometimes I get off track with you.
3. I had a gym membership, but find that I prefer to exercise at home, and I am working on getting enough space in my little apartment to allow me to lie down and put my hands over my head and twist my legs to stretch my back. Sometimes I wish I was shorter
4. I try to not eat too much processed food, but I do eat some as finding recipes for single servings can be a challenge. I tend to eat several times through the day, a glass of milk or juice with a homemade oatmeal cookie, a bowl of cereal, french toast, a cheese sandwich, a tomato and cucumber salad. Just simple stuff. I try to remember to have a little of each food group a day, but sometimes I forget what is a protein… and I try to remember to drink enough water every day. I always have a glass of water before going to bed.
5. Proper diet and daily exercise does work. The trick is to get it to be “proper” and “daily” It only doesn’t work if you don’t do it.
6. I would like you to create alternate versions of the exercise routines you already have. They are great, but after a few months it would be nice to have a little variety, still working within the themes you have already established.
Thank you for being there, and for caring. I do appreciate your assistance, your resources, and your friendly smile.
1- the most problematic part of my body is my stomach and the love handles so I need more work on these parts but I love to do it in a hole-body work-out routine.
2- I like your home recordings and I’m looking forward to get more of them. I feel like I have a workout-buddy and I feel like I know you forever! I love those applause because they come just when I feel that I need some appreciation here
) thank you! So, I think that a workout routine of 30 minutes per day would be perfect for me because I don’t have too much time But I feel that 20 min. are not enough. The target should be abs and love-handles but to work-out my entire body in the same time.
3 – I prefer exercising at home and I exercise at home with you any time I can. My challenge is starting exercising again after a vacation or Holidays period when I make a long break – like 2 weeks, because I use to exercise every single day, or as much as I can but after these breaks It’s hard to start again because I feel that I’m not in shape anymore and I hate that.
4 -I’m a lacto-vegetarian but occasionally I eat chicken or fish–rarely! I don’t eat fried food and I’m crazy about fruits especially apples. I think I could find 30 minuted or an hour to cook per day.
5 – I’ve tried to be constant in exercising but after some brakes I feel sick to start over again with pain in the muscles at the beginning and all that staff. I did lost weight when I was exercising with regularity–I lost 3 cm from my stomach and 3 kilos in 10 weeks of exercising with you. My problem is that I have only about 5 kilos to get rid off and when I get lazy I say “Oh, I look ok, I don’t need exercising anymore”
I think that another problem is that I get bored and I need alternating routines.
6 – what can I say more than “Thank you for appearing in my life when I most needed someone like you!” you are energetic and enthusiastic and this is shown in anything you do. I like working out with you and I recommended you to all the people who asked me what do I do to look so in shape. I saw the results on my own body so, I am sure it works! So, keep on doing what you do and I can’t wait to read your book!
Lots of kises and hugs from your neighbor,
Maria-Cristina
from Romania
1. Would like to target big thighs and upper arms!
2. Yes, I love them
3. Keeping my mind active and wanting to participate: I always talk myself out of it by thinking how stupid the exercise is.
4. I am in College right now and food is either very unhealthy (eg burger) or very healthy (eg salad, smoothie etc) so I end up going through cycles of eating… when I am home I eat a lot of carbs like pasta with home made veggie sauce so I got lots of fruit and veg but also a lot of carbohydrate and sugar. I am vegetarian so I’d love any diet plans to have veggie/fish alternatives!
5. Cutting out everything, cutting down to 1200 calories, Paul McKenna, Alli…
Hi Rumi,
just wanted to say you’re doing an amazing job and your leg workout videos helped me tone back up for soccer super fast! Thank you so much. A few comments I’d like to make in response to the prompter questions..
My most problematic area is without a doubt my stomach. There’s rock hard muscle there, but I still have the flab over it, “pooch” area. It’s not large, but still makes me very self conscious, especially at the pool. Some ideas to help with this would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t have much time to cook during the day, ten or fifteen minutes for breakfast and lunch tops. Some quick, healthy, and filling ideas would be great.
Continue with everything you’ve been doing girl! You’re helping so many people and you should be proud of it.
Many thanks!
These are the hardest thing to avoid, because I don’t have much will power! how can I stop the cravings or at least ignore them?
Also even if i do 50 crunches, 50 weighted squats and a 20 seconds plank a day I still don’t lose weight or even tone up! Its so frustrating
thank you so much for listening.

I loved your workouts and did it for 2 months. But because I didn’t use proper mat, I got hip problems. Please advise anyone using your workouts that carpet isn’t enough for it.
I think that if you really want to lose weight – it’s all in your mind. If you don’t prepare yourself psychologically then after a while you will just give up.
Thanks for the time to share my thoughts and to also ask some questions. I have recently lost about 25lbs..but now it has come to a screeching halt!! I’m not sure what to do. At first it seemed like the weight just fell off. I was dieting and exercising. I found that cardio seems to be the best for me..I really need help with continuing with my goal. It can be really frustrating after a hard press to lose then all of a sudden nothing seems to work>> HELP!
Hi Rumi,
My main problem are is my belly. I can’t seem to lose this tire I am carrying around in front of me. I had been going to the gym and doing 2 miles 5 times a week on a treadmill..at a fast walk, no running because I have asthma. I’ve had 2 children and lost the baby weight pretty quick, but am not sure where this came from!! I don’t’ have a lot of time to cook and have tried various diets with no luck. Would love any exercise that can be done at home as I don’t have much spare time to go to the gym.
Hi Rumi,First of all thanks for your concern.
I would like to get assistance for the following issues:
1. Pls suggest a powerful workout for flabby arms which can be done at home, without others help.
2. Workouts for upper & lower tummy.
3. For better thighs and hip.
4. Also gud exercises to relieve the back pain especially for the ones who work with computer long time.
We are eagerly looking forward your ebook at the earliest.
Thank You.
regards,
Anitha
Thank you for letting me explain to you what are my biggest challenges in losing weight. First I would have to say it is very difficult working full time , being a part time student, full time wife, and a mother of a two year old.
I don’t get enough time to work out and go to the gym. I try to get healthy, but its very hard to keep track to a meal schedule when you are always on the go.
I have a very difficult time losing weight after my pregnancy. The biggest challenges are my mid and lower section. I don’t know what to do. It is very depressing when I want to lose weight so bad, but yet again it is so difficult. Please if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
Thank You,
Donna
Hi Rrumi,
I work full time and finding the time for exercise is hard. Also I find it hard to eat properly as I am on the go all day.
When is the best time to exercise? And I don’t have much time to prepare meals, but eating healthy food isn’t a problem.
I just want an easy way to lose weight fast, any advice you have would be great. Thanks x
I find most difficult is not being able to stop myself from eating too much food. I can fit in exercise but I can’t control diet so no weight loss!
First of all, I think its great that you’re doing this. Thank you for your time and effort!
I am about to be 21, in college and working. I find it difficult to eat healthy on-the-go. Also I don’t have a lot of time to work out, my problem areas are tummy, arms and thighs… Of course
Thank for you time!
Hi Rumi,
Thanks for getting in touch with me. I have been exercising for years, but the problem is you would not know it just by looking at me. I’m 5’11, 307lbs. (At one point I weigh 370lbs) Well anyway. I’m a big girl and to be honest I love my body. Yeah I could use some work on it but hey doesn’t everybody. The reason why I work out is to keep my self sane. I’m a social worker and between my clients and my two boys ages 9 and 5, I need all the sanity I can get. However in the process I have learned to eat better. ( exercising is WAY easier that eating better.) I have learned to give up my only vise, soda. Yep, I no longer drink soda b/c that defeats the purpose of running three miles a day. I also don’t eat outside food. I need to know who’s cooking and how my food is being cooked. I’m not on a diet but I do think about what I eat. Do I really want that donut or can I wait until I treat myself to a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream? I usually wait.
Hi,
I’m from the South, we have sinfully good food. THAT’S my problem, haha…
I’ve been going to Curves for Women for about a month now everyday on my lunch hour, and I’ve gained 2 lbs.
My sister convinced me to join with her as a motivational thing. It DOES help because it’s only 30 minutes a day, but we both have completely crashed on what we’ve been eating.
When we get off work, we don’t do anything extra besides stuff our faces! Help!
I am a diabetic and vegetarian and a fussy eater!! My main problem is belly fat (not much but more than I want) and I need to burn it fast so I can do exercises to keep it toned up.
I like exercising but don’t have much time to do it, maybe 20 mins a day.
My diet has never been a problem but since I lost my job and turned 30 a few pounds have gone on. I need a diet that contains carbohydrates for my diabetes but I’d rather exercise than diet!!!
i am from india….. and also vegetarian. so suggest diet foods accordingly. and…. an exercise routine which can be done at home itself. Than spending time at gym. the place wr i stay they dont hv gud gyms. and also i am 22. but my skin has gone flabby. do u really think u can help me. i hv done and tried almost everything. lets c wat u come up 4 me………….
i Rumi,
First, thanks for your concern and all-time support for us who are having struggles in losing weight.
Well, one of the challenges that I encounter is the lack of time to exercise as well as the space. I enrolled in the gym but it’s quite lonely working out alone although I already got used to it.
Another thing is sometimes I’m having difficulty controlling my cravings. I am having a difficult time avoiding foods like the white stuff which are rice, white bread…etc.
I also want to know if slimming coffees are safe. Some of my friends took it and they lost weight but of course, I’m a bit cautious if this is safe. Is taking diet supplements safe for the body especially in the liver?
Thanks for your time.

Hi
I’m a 24 year old who works full time and is also a full time student. I am currently 133lbs and 155 cm. My biggest challenge is finding time to eat well and work out. Since I’m out most of the day the only time I have to eat is really late at night before I go to bed, I know that’s bad but I have no other choice. I also can’t find time to work out at all. I can’t wait to read your book as your videos helped me alot when I used to have time. Thanks for all your help.
Hi Rumi. Thanks for your ideas.
About your questions, here are my answers.
I need exercises to burn fat in my arms, thighs and belly fat. I would like a video for 45 min to 1 hour. I exercise at home. I have 20-30 min. to cook. My challenges are my emotional eating and that I have no time.
Hi Rumi,
I have a daughter who will be two years old in a few months and perhaps like a few people my problems is when to eat and then exercise. I have been doing the workouts when I can and combined with trying to lose weight as a balanced diet (and it’s working). However, the difficulty I have is mentally I cannot switch to doing this for me ‘me-time’ until my daughter is in bed and by that time I am need my dinner. So some tips on exercise to do at work or even that involves the kids i.e. fun for then and exercise/toning for me would be great.
My biggest problem is to stop eating all the biscuits and cakes
Hello Rumi it´s good to hear from you.
I haven’t got problems with eating healthy food, my biggest problem are my legs. I have fat legs so I would like you to give me home exercises to help me burn the legs and if there is any diet for legs I would appreciate your help.
thanks a lot.
Much love
karina
Hi Rumi and thank you for your message!
Here are my biggest challenges:
1) Lack of motivation to exercise.
2) I do like and eat healthy food (fruits, veggies, etc.) but crave sweets, which totally destroy any work I start
3) I seem to be able to resist food temptations all day but then miserably fail at dinner time.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Hi,
I only need to reduce my fat in tummy.Hope you will tell me a specific method…
Thanks
I’m about 53 kg 5″4 and have a really flabby stomach I prefer exercising at home I’d like to know what food is more ideal and plus I have psoriasis I cant really have protein rich foods so I get dfed uop sometimes and hog I need something that will work for me plus will be tasty and a good fitness regime and work out exercises
Hi Rumi,
I am 22 and weigh 58kg. For some reason I haven’t been able to budge from tat weight. I run around 4km 4 times a week.
I would like to lose weight around my stomach and my thighs. For some reason I cannot get them to tone without a great deal of effort. Also, I have a large cup size, which has led to some droopiness. I would like to know how to get rid of that.
Home exercise videos would be good: It’s difficult doing exercises from pictures and words alone. I can exercise for about an hour a day: I run for about 30 minutes already. I would like to target my upper thighs and stomach.
I exercise at home. I am a student and cannot afford gym. I would prefer gym because I am more motivated with people around me. My biggest challenge is sticking to a routine and eating properly.
I struggle not to eat between meals. I will nibble on cheese or biscuits. Otherwise my diet is healthy: I have yogurt for breakfast, toast and soup for lunch, and usually a light dinner. I live with a family of 5: we take about 45 min to cook our food at dinner.
I have tried most exercises. The only reasons they didn’t work is because I didn’t stick to them.
My biggest hurdle is not as much in losing weight but losing weight around my waist and staying in shape. Lack of exercise regimen in my whole life and hectic lifestyle are challenges I have to overcome. I think any workout that I chose should be done at home with minimum equipment. And diet pattern should involve dishes which are quick to prepare. One tip from Rumi that I religiously followed for a long time very regularly and even now to an extent is the tuna sandwich. Thanks for that Rumi and keep going
I am lucky enough to be an at home mum at the moment so am really trying to get a handle on my weight before I need to go back to work. I walk for at least an hour everyday – I was doing the exercises from your videos but then my son started walking! I have lost 10kg so far but have come stuck with the eating again and am really bad for sneaking chocolate treats! I am also after some nice healthy meal ideas that the whole family would enjoy.
I need more exercises to reduce bust size & Tummy I dint find any exercise to reduce bust size
- yes, I Love ur exercise videos, the way u do exercises & background Music gives me energy!!!
-I want more exercises to reduce my tummy
Lazyness and less self control
I prefer to do workout at home
I am a vegetarian + Indian.
I am an Emotional Eater, this s my drawback
When I get angry or disappointed immediately I start eating wat ever I get..
otherwise i will take
cornflakes for breakfast,
Rice+Dal+Curd for Lunch (Am an Indian),
2 dosa/chappathi for dinner
in between I’ll take juices and biscuits when I feel hungry
Before starting any weight reduction plan, I would suggest improve your Self control coz this plays really a vital role in weight reduction
Small Tip: Friends hav a small Note, start writing your Aim..what are the things u have sacrificed to reduce weight..start collecting your old pics in which u look slim..cute..and paste these fotos in the note..
Daily take jus 5 mins to read this Note..
Am sure it will give u lot of inspiration..
Thanks Rumi for giving me this opportunity
take care
Hi Rumi!
First of all, thanks you very much for the wonderful videos. I have one request. Can you add an exercise video for total body workout that lasts about an hour? I normally do the 20 min sets on weekdays, but would like to exert a little more over the weekends.
Hi,
thanks for the Videos. and you are helping us a lot through your video’s.
I would be thankful, if I could get videos more specific for total health and also targeted areas in the body.
My Buttocks (hips), thighs. it just doesn’t shape up, no matter what diet I follow, Kindly guide
It would be helpful, if you could. say 30-45 min video per day. targeting my whole body, especially hips, thighs, stomach.
Time is my main constraint, since am working. I prefer to work our at home. I normally exercise at home.
Since am working as Media Manager, for a reputed Hospital, in Bangalore, India. It gives me no time for myself. I usually eat rice, roti (made of wheat), and vegetables in cooked form. I do get time to cook (one hour to two hours).
I have tried Yoga, Exercises. None of it have worked for me, especially exercises.
Hi Rumi,
I weigh 60kgs ann my height is 158 cms
I want lose my weigh at least 10 kgs
I need my tummy be 10cm lesser (my tummy is 80cm)
please help me
thanks
Hi Rumi,
Thank you very much for everything that you are doing for as. With your exercise you really helped me but my problem is that after I start to have muscles I stop.
I have problems with hormones so for that I have to take care for that because my weight is increasing if I not take care.I also have problem with my sugar blood level, is too low so my doctor told ti me to eat at 3 hours but of course not chocolate or fed things.
I try to do same exercise at home but the problem is that I start and ten I give up.I like also sweet things and meat:-)
I have now 65 kg and height 1.73. I think I need exercise for abs. hips. arms.
thank you very much again.
Hi Rumi,
Thanks a lot for your mail.
I weight 80kgs with a height of 167cms. In order to maintain a healthy BMI I need to lose at least 15kgs of weight. I have tried strict dieting sometimes starving also but it did not help me at all. In fact I have been going to the gym and performing workouts for more than two weeks but till date I haven’t lost any weight.
My daily routine is I get up at 4.30 AM and go to the gym at around 5 am. I spend more than 1 hour at the gym where i spend 15 mins for cycling, 15 mins for skipping, lifting 2 kgs weight by hands and the same for legs (200 times each). Apart from this the time left is spent in exercises i saw in your videos. After (about 30mins later) getting back from gym I have a glass full of luke warm water with lemon juice and a little salt. Then I get ready and leave for office. My office timings are from 8am to 6pm. During the evening hours I watch TV and surf net.
Kindly refer my below eating habits as these would help you suggesting me an alternate.
Breakfast: minimum oily food with a glass of milk.
Lunch: 2 chapatis and vegetable with green salad.
Evening snack: a cup of coffee with biscuits.
Dinner: 2 Chapatis with vegetable, pulses and a little rice.
Kindly suggest me a suitable vegetarian diet (preferable Indian diet) so that I can lose 15 kgs of weight.
Also suggest me with the do’s and dont’s of workout at gym along with the eating habits to be followed.
Please help me out as m carrying so much of weight which makes me feel inferior and depressed.
Waiting for your reply.
Silvi
My biggest problem is that I have so little time. I’m taking seven high-level courses and working a scholarship study in addition to VPing the club I’ve been devoted to for the last three years.
I just feel like I don’t have TIME for sleep, much less good diet and exercise, and it’s showing. My fiancé cooks most of the time, and the weight starts coming back; he’s a fan of fried fish-sticks and boxed mashed potatoes.
I go to dance classes twice a week, and walk an average of two hours at a good clip per day between my flat and the two scholastic buildings. I’d like to see easy recipes I could show my fiancé in the hopes that we can both eat better even if I’m not home to cook it, and also work out routines that make the most of the 30 minutes I’ll be cutting out of my sleep pattern.
Thank you, your website is really amazing, and helped me lose weight last winter when I had a moment to breathe !
Hi Rumi,
I am 43 years old, 1,58 height and weigh 62 kilos. I quit smoking 6 years ago and put on 10 kilos. I eat very healthy but I don?t lose weight. I think my body has just got used with that. I eat Albran for breakfast with nuts. In the middle of the morning, I eat one fruit. For lunch, soup or salad. In the middle of afternoon, some more muesli. For dinner, we (my husband and I, no children) eat most fish, salad, pasta? no meat. Very, very little sweet, and alcohol just during the weekends (3 glasses of red wine, maximum).
I have a home office, so I have little time to prepare lunch, but can spare 30 min for that. The most ?problematic? area of my body is my belly. I like your record home exercises in video, because I can do together with you. It is like having a company when you are training. I walk three times a week, one hour each, and now have started to run again. I would love to lose at least 7 kilos, because I am on my best when I am 55 kilos.
Good luck with your book,
All the best!
Hi Rumi,
I weigh 80kgs ann my height is 167 cms….to get a healthy BMI I need to lose at least 15 kgs of weight….I get up at 4.30am in the morning and go to gym at 5 am…after an hour workout I get ready for my office…my office timings are 8 am to 6 pm…in the evening I am at home and I do net surfing…I have been going to the gym since two weeks and haven’t lost weight at all..Pls help me out by suggesting me proper workouts and a balanced diet…
I find it relatively easy to follow a healthy eating plan as I dislike fast foods and I usually always crave natural, “clean” food. The problem is, as I don’t consume too much food, my energy levels are almost always low. I don’t have enough energy to exercise. I know exercise is very important to stay toned and in shape. Is there something I can do to get my energy up. I currently have started doing yoga for about 10 minutes a day. I have a 9 to 5 job so I have to either exercise early in the morning before going to work or at night, after having made dinner. Either way (morning or night) I am just too tired to exercise. I have tried tonics and energy drinks but they don’t really seem to do the trick. Please HELP!
Hi Rumi,
Good to hear from you.
I have a problem with exercising due to painful joints and I am asthmatic, I also don’t have much time.
My weight seems to have crept up on me in the last two years, top half of my body, back, breasts and stomach.
Have also started menopause.
I don’t eat overly much but love to cook.
Quick meal ideas with lots of veggies would be great.
Thank you and take care.
My biggest challenges is my hectic schedule & lack of time for myself.
Hello! I’ve noticed that when I reached the age of 30 my metabolism gradually slowed down.. I have learned to eat wisely and have religiously exercised but there are weeks where I can’t exercise daily and I’ve noticed I easily gain the few pounds lost.. I eat wheat bread, brown rice and a lot of fruits and veggies but somehow just for a few days that I am not able to exercise, I gain pounds again…
Hi Rumi,
This is Peggy and I live in India (Bangalore).I am quite excited to see your email asking for my comments.I am going to list my concerns which would help you in giving the appropriate suggestions to me.
I do regular walking everyday in the evening covering 5 kms after which I do few exercises related to the reduction of butt.My problem areas basically are the tummy and buttocks.I am doing the butt reduction exercises shown in your site from the past 2-3 days but cant see any result though.I do understand that it will take some time to see the results but my concern is I am getting married in Nov’09 and want to have a perfect figure by then. Also it would be great if you can suggest me few food habits that i need to follow accordingly with doing these exercises.
My Eating Habits:
Morning:Breakfast-Any tiffins-Idly,Dosa,Upma,Roti.
Afternoon: Lunch-Rice or any Tiffin.
Dinner-Carrot,Cucumber,Apple,Banana and little rice.
Please help me in knowing the work outs that I need to do to reduce my weight in the buttocks and in the tummy areas. I weigh 57 kgs currently for a height of 5.2.
Looking forward for your response.
Luv,
Peggy.
Hi Rumi thank for the website and the videos. Well I got a whole body question? Do your 20 minutes exercise videos are enough? And can make a whole body workout video that last a little more than 20 minutes?
Hi Rumi,
My weight is 90kg. Its very heavy weight. I m not doing any exercise but I am doing yoga. So please help me to my diet chat. i am in Tamilnadu (Chennai). I am vegetration. I want to reduce overall but mainly I want to reduce my arms & stomach. Please help me.
Thanks,
Hi Rumi
I love your videos. I started doing them and loved it because it was just 20 minutes each.
My biggest problem is time. I have two small children which takes up most of my time.
Eating healthy is also a problem. Normally when you go on a diet you have to buy special foods and prepare it differently. My husband is skinny and has a fast metabolism, so weight is not a problem for him. I would look something simple, an eating plan that is not too different from the rest of the family’s meals I cook and which is easy to prepare.
Hi Rumi,
I would like to thank you a lot for your time and for sharing your knowledge where it is going to help lot many people to reduce their weight. I love all your videos. Thanks for helping us.
But unfortunately I won’t get time to do those exercises and after marriage I put on weight a lot. I need to reduce the size of thighs, butt and arms and need to come back for a shape.
Below are the answers for your questions:
1. What EXERCISES you need ? tell me which the most problematic body spots are?
I need Exercises where I can reduce butt, thighs, arms and abs.(exercise which can be done in home without any equipments)
2. Do you want me to record home exercise videos? How long to be (what time per day you can spend doing exercises)? Which body parts to target?
Yeah please share some home exercise which I can target my butt and thighs.
3. What is the biggest challenge when you start exercising? Do you exercise at home or gym or which of them you prefer?
Most of the time I won’t be free to do any exercise but will try to arrange some time and would like to do exercise in home.
4. What you eat is very important: describe your diet challenges, give examples what you eat. Tell me do you have time to cook (10 mins per day, 1 hour?), so I know what kind of food ideas to give you.
I am an Indian and staying in south part of India.I don’t think you will be knowing all these foods( idli , dosa, pallav, chapathi) most of them will be prepared by rice and wheat. and as I am non-vegetarian I will have chicken once in a week.
5. What you have tried and didn?t work.
I will do exercise when ever I get some free time. But not able to do it regularly. So till now nothing has worked out for me in reducing my weight.
6. Anything you want to share.
Please help me to reduce my weight and come back to shape.
Hi Rumi,
It was a pleasure seeing your e-mail. I hope all is well at your side.
My name is Rabab, and I am 18 years old, I have polystic ovary and because of which I am unable to lose weight no matter, what I do.
I am a full time worker and I study full time as well. I feel very stressed out and because of which even if I want to exercise I feel very exhausted.
If I am unable to lose weight according to the doctor, I will have complications later in life, as I am not getting my periods regularly. I really want to have a normal healthy life.
I am 5 feet, and I weigh 56 Kgs. I would love to take care of myself and feel like a normal 18 year old girl, having a good body.
This effects my heart and my mind. Makes me less confidence. This is my biggest challenge.
I would love to read your book and I wish you all the best in all that you do in helping women all around the world.
GOD BLESS YOU.
Love,
Rabi

Simple and easy to follow exercises is what I need. The most problematic body spot is my thigh.
Home exercise videos with funky dance music background will be great. I reckoned range of 10mins, 30mins, 1hr long of exercise videos which target body parts like arms, tummy and thigh.
The biggest challenge is the time. I start work at 7am but I have to start my journey at 5.45am and finish work at 4pm (arrive at home at 5.30pm). Therefore, I would prefer to exercise at home.
I usually eat rice, noodles, chicken, fish, meat. I don’t like eating vege (I know I should eat a lot of vege). I have my light breakfast (like french toast) at 5.30am then heavy breakfast at 10am (like curry noodle), skip lunch, then end meal at 6pm (like fritters). I prefer Asian foods.
I know I did lose some weight but my thigh and arm doesn’t show any difference. Please help.
I found this website about two years ago or so. And loved the videos I am a full-time college student and part-time med. asst. So it?s hard to fit in two hours of gym time thanks to Rumi I?I’ve been able to keep up with the workouts.
And thanks to her I read the tab for Diet plans which led me to fatloss4idiots.com i started this “style of living” I don?t want to call it diet because this is the way I will eat from now on. And so far I have gone down two sizes and lost about 15lbs.
I wanted to lose weight because diabetes runs in my dad?s side of the family and also because I found myself buying larger sizes of clothing each time and I didn’t want to end up in the plus size section. I am now happy with what I look like and feel much healthier. Thanks Rumi
Hi Rumi,
Thanks for the mail.
I am a vegetarian and can spare 1 hour for cooking. I have more fats on my hips and breasts. Please suggest some good exercises for these parts.
I don’t want to diet as I can’t survive fasting. Please suggest some good food for spare times besides regular food.
Thanks
I weigh 76kg and I want to lose weight as fast as possible. Though I was always on the fatter side, I gained so much weight after pregnancy. Now I have a 2 yr old baby.
Though my fat is distribute everywhere, my main problem areas are arms, abs and thighs. I am using your workout videos since two weeks and I enjoy doing it. But I would have preferred a 40-45 minutes long entire body workout emphasizing on arms. Since I have a baby I could find time only in the morning and that time I would like to use optimally.
I am a non-veg. I am an Indian and my diet consists of rice, chappatis (made of wheat), beans, carrots, cabbage, fish and occasionally meat. You may not be familiar with Indian food items, but I feel you can help me. I prepare food only in mornings and evenings and spend around 1 1/2 hours together. Lunch I eat out and is mostly rice and vegetables.
Your is a wonderful site and all the best for your efforts.
Hi,
I am 70 kgs at this time height 5.6 inches. I use to be 54 kgs year back. I am facing problem relating hormones that why my weight is increasing. I just want to know that is walking or jogging is good as I go for a walk for an hour daily is this ok to reduce weight else what shall I do. Regarding food I am Indian vegetarian if you can help in this.
Following are my question :
IS walking 2kms in fast speed is good? oR walking with medium 4kms is good just let me know this and do let me know the fastest way to reduce weight.
I want to lose my belly fat. I exercise at home and I prefer Indian diet.
I was a sports player and I stopped my game due to some medical advice and later I gradually started to put on weight day by day..I tried to reduce it but I couldn’t follow the plan for a long period… I’m afraid that if I workout again and if I stop it due to some reason the chances for gaining weight again is high. Can you give me a Indian diet plan which is effective enough to reduce my body weight and maintain it for a longer period…is there any chances to reduce more weight in a month as my friends tease me due to the fast increase in my weight..pls help…
Hi Rimi,
I am taking time out to write this only because I trust that you are one of the few genuine people out there trying to share your knowledge on living a healthy life. Thanks for being you!
About the problems I face – I think a lot of people will relate to me – I start with full dedication and somewhere in between I give up.
Also, I have a very active social life – I am invited to a lot of parties, social gatherings and have to eat out a lot – that’s where I face a huge challenge when it comes to eating right.
I love the videos you’ve recorded and they are very helpful! I like that it focuses on my problem areas – abs and arms.
I am an Indian and a lot of my Indian friends love your site – so an Indian diet (including meat like chicken and lamb, veggies, lentils, pulses, wheat, etc.) will be very helpful.
One other huge problem I face is when I get my periods – I don’t work out for 4-5 days – that throws me off the track for a bit and takes a lot of effort to get back to working out. What do you suggest I do for times when I have my periods – can I do the videos? can I do cardio?
I’m tired of being fat – and want to dedicate the next few months to get into shape – NO MORE EXCUSES is going to be my mantra! Any help from you will be much appreciated.
Thanks again and god bless!
Hi, Rumi, I’m a personal chef in Tucson, Az. USA. My daughter (25) turned me on to your site. I’m 59, and I have found that doing 2 sets of your exercises, back to back (average 40 min)has successfully taken 10 inches off my trouble spots. After having 2 kids in my 30′s, taking care of them, working, eating on the run, etc., I noticed my figure was not what it had been before. I tried exercise routines and dieting, but they were always hard to stick to. Then I became a personal chef and became very aware of what went into what food and the calories involved. When I started your routines, I immediately started to tighten up. Mostly in waist, abs, hips, butt and inner thighs. My figure is close to what it was in my 30′s. Thanks!
My lower body is the problem area, especially my thighs.
I have broad bones, respond well to exercise but the motivation to stay on in any program is simply not there. As for the diet part – I am a vegan, so suggest ways in ways I can increase my protein intake.
I find it difficult to do intense cardio for more than 30 minutes, which is said to be best for weight loss. But I can easily do strength training.
Second thing is that of keeping calories in check. Sometimes it is so tough because you need to eat less, which may not be always satisfactory.
What EXERCISES you need ? tell me which the most problematic body spots are?
I need cardio exercises. My problematic body spots are my tummy, thighs, biceps and fats on back.
2. Do you want me to record home exercise videos? How long to be (what time per day you can spend doing exercises)? Which body parts to target?
Atleast one hour. Tummy, thighs buttocks
3. What is the biggest challenge when you start exercising? Do you exercise at home or gym or which of them you prefer?
I prefer gym. Controlling my diet is my biggest challenge
4. What you eat is very important: describe your diet challenges, give examples what you eat. Tell me do you have time to cook (10 mins per day, 1 hour?), so I know what kind of food ideas to give you.
15 minutes for myself for food. I like sweet
5. What you have tried and didn?t work.
I eat and exercises. I have lost in inches but not loosing weight. I tried dieting but not succeeded.
6. Anything you want to share.
Please help me to loose weight inasmuch as it has become very important for me. Since I am a single mother to my children. My husband died recently. I get exhausted because of overweight and my career also gets affected.
I have started going through the Menopause, and have noticed extra fat appearing on my tummy.
I have never had any problem with my weight, I hope you can help me with diet and exercise for menopausal women.
1- my most problematic spot is my thighs n hips:(
n my shoulders. n i also have round face n its becoming round n round. i want to look like u.
2- yes u should record home exercise videos they r so helpful. I do exercise normally 20 minutes mostly doing exercise of hips.
3-I prefer home because I live in small city n don’t have gym near. Biggest target is to get in shape as I have before marriage.
4- I have enough time for cooking n I mostly eat chicken mutton n as I m from Pakistan so my food is spicy.
5-I tried to back in shape as I have before marriage but it doesn’t happen yet.
6- i m 4 years younger than my husband but due to my fat n round face ,i look 4 years elder than him.
There are 2 challenges that I have
1. I have Thyroid(High)
2. My Job routine is 8-10 hrs sitting.
I have practiced your exercises which are proving good. Thanks for your contribution for the people like us.
I find for me, the hardest part of all this is the beginning. When I found your site I got excited, but that was a couple months ago and I’ve since forgotten to use it. While you have so much info here, it all feels intimidating for beginners.
What I want is a video thats shorter. For me, someone who doesn’t workout yet, a 20-25 is too long. I’m exhausted way before the end of the video- and when I can’t finish, I feel like why bother starting. What I would love is something with very clear steps, say, start with this video 3 times a week, and move on to this, after so many weeks. Do you know what I mean? I feel like I don’t know what to do because there is so much to choose from. I want something I can follow without thinking. A plan designed to help me as a beginner.
As for the videos themselves, sometimes I find your voice hard to hear, even on my computers loudest setting. I’m not sure if that’s something that can be changed or if that’s just me?
As for eating, I’m a student, so anything that’s budget smart is good for me. I also don’t eat much meat, especially no read meat or pork. I enjoy cooking, so I spend as much time in the kitchen as I can. What I would really be interested in are snack ideas. I love baking but that’s hardly ever healthy. So something I could make to eat during the week would be really good for me. And I hear a lot that people should eat 5 smaller meals a day, but I don’t understand how to plan that in? Is this something you’d advise, too? I have a hard time remembering to eat at the right times as it is.
Hope some of that was helpful! Can’t wait for the book.
I would really like a video with a mix of cardio and stretching exercises.
My biggest problem is motivation.
I like the current length of your videos because you can do 2 if you want a longer workout, or just one if you are in a rush.
I work out at home.
I really enjoy the arm workout video
I had a baby 10 months ago and I have lost all of my weight, about 30 pounds I was going to the gym everyday for two months. However my body has become loosen my thighs are not tight at all my belly is loose, and I have stretch marks, so I have a very low self esteem.
I eat healthy, I drink a lot of water I don’t eat anything after six, so food and diet is not an issue for me whatsoever. I just need to tighten my body.
My biggest challenge is I start working out for a week as the previous person has said, then I stop because i don’t feel motivated enough, running on my treadmill doesn’t seem enough for me, so i would like a total body strength exercise everyday for 30 minutes, and maybe lose another 10 pounds because my BMI said I am still overweight! please helppp
I did not realize having a full time office job that involves me sitting for over 40+ hrs a week could be so draining. I have develop a beer belly and I don’t drink alcohol!!! Developing cellulite on my thighs is not appealing either. I do my best to eat healthy and eat organic food as much as possible. I also drink only water. I prefer to eat fresh fruit instead of drinking juices. Did I mention I’m still in school and a single mother? Time is not on my side. More at home videos that are minimum 30 min that concentrate on the stomach area without too much sit ups since there are people such as my self who have back problems.
Hi Rumi,
First of all thank you very much for a wonderful site. My most problematic area is abs, then goes with butt and thighs. Because of change in area and profession I put on almost 10kgs of weight and want to go back to my normal body weight. Earlier in teaching profession and now in IT. So results in long hours of sitting, unusual timings for food.
I’m Indian non vegetarian but prefers veggie. Non veg items(chicken, fish, prawns, egg) in my menu will be 2-3 times a week, rest will be vegetarian(spinach, brinjal, ladys finger, cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, beans, potato). I have to cook myself and spare 1 hour to cook.
I prefer home for exercises and would like to have 1 hour exercise video, current I’m combining your videos to 50 mins(at max).
Greatest problem is irregularity. Few months with regular exercises also I don’t see any difference (may be my diet) then stop doing for some time, then again I will start to do….
Thank you for this opportunity to share my feelings with you.
Well I don’t consider myself fat or over weight, I would just like to be more toned, around the ab and butt area. Home video exercised that could be easily put into a gym. I have a membership with school but no time to use it. My biggest challenge to exercise is finding time, I have class 6 hours a day, about 7 hours of homework a day, with a 2 hour drive to commute. If there are exercises that could be done while driving to school that would be perfect! I may have about 0.5 hour a day to prepare all my meals for the day, and I eat salads sandwiches, mostly vegetarian dishes, that are small meals throughout the day to keep me going. I have tried getting up earlier to have time to hit the gym before school but then I was normally too tired by the end of the day to pay attention in class.
My biggest challenge is I don’t know what to eat and what type of exercises I need to do to lose weight and stay healthy.
My challenge is that I simply don’t have time to do much exercise. My problem areas are my thighs and hips and butt. Cellulite has started appearing, do you have anything for that, that doesn’t take up too much time, or simply just anything to control cellulite?
I have a hard time sticking with anything. Whenever I try to diet or start a workout routine, I end up straying from it. I need an easy to follow diet and workouts to help my abs and inner thigh that I can do daily.
I love this website! And I just want to thank you for creating this site. It is a huge part of my workout-life.
I am an university student, and I am always on the go, in between classes, work, and homework I hardly find time to work-out. My work-out time is at 5:30am and I really like work-outs that are between 20-40min long. I do my work-out either at home or at the gym.
I find that I have issues will all body parts. . . but I bet most of us feel that way on certain days. But my belly area is my focus as well as my upper arms. I would love an outlined full-body work out as well.
I am pretty much a vegetarian. I really like seafood and would probably die if I had to give up tuna and shrimp. Since I am usually on the go I like to make my meals the night before (I am pretty flexible with time in the evening) and just grab them on the way out the door. They usually consist of a piece of fruit, a granola bar, baby tomatoes, soup(or sandwich), and crackers with Swiss cheese.
I am a huge fan of breakfast and I eat basically any breakfast type food that is easy and quick to make.
When I start working out I find that the first week is always the easiest, but then I lose interest. I am a visual person and I like to see results right away. And losing weight is something that takes time. So I keep a workout journal and jot down what it is that I did that day and I bought a calendar that I dedicated to recording my days that I work out. I just cross off days that I went and since I hate breaking a nice trend I try to workout everyday.
I also found that going with a friend with the same weight goals and similar build is helpful. I tried going with one friend of mine that did not have a similar build and I felt like a huge blob when walking next to her and felt like I should just give up right then and there.
Well I hope that that helps. I really would like to see the finished product!! Can’t wait!
I really like full body exercises but really try to focus on strengthening my back and legs. I am always bending over and lifting my 7th old and 2yr old. I am only 28 but my back feels like I’m 60 plus.
I really like the 20 minute videos. My kids don’t let me exercise so I need to do it at naptime. It never fails that once I’m 15 to 20 minutes into a routine my son will decide it’s time to get up. The short videos allow me to do 2 or 3 routines throughout the day instead of breaking up one long routine.
I only have the time to workout at home. I couldn’t afford a gym anyway.
I do 30 to 60 minute meals. I have a great diet in the morning and afternoon (granola, whole grains, steamed veggies), but have a picky toddler at dinnertime. I also find it difficult to afford healthier meals that she will eat. Why is junk food so cheap!?!
I had my children fairly close together and really want to get back to my pre-pregnancy size. That’s about 35lbs less than I am now. I don’t even recognize myself anymore.
Hi Rumi
I have enjoyed all your videos…
but my problem area is my thigh. I find it very difficult to lose fat from my inner thigh
Also I have a small upper body, and hence my lower body gains more attention. I can spend 1 hour time for exercise everyday but would like to know the effective way to reduce fat from my thighs.
Also I would like to know about exercises to improve my bust line. How much weights do I use to improve my bust?
I would be grateful if you can answer my query or address these issues in ur upcoming ebook. I will look forward for your ebook.
My body weight is 53kg and height is 5.4″. I feel the more fat is settled in my lower abs, hip and upper thigh. After my pregnancy, I got this loose saggy lower abs and i feel really bad about this because I am not used to saggy abs earlier.
I exercise at home, however not regularly. I am loosing my motivation and the reason is that I have a 15 months old boy, so I don’t get that much time every day to do the exercise.
I eat healthy low carb diet and take lots of greens, eggs, dairy and fruits.
My goal is to reduce the fat especially in the lower abs. I would appreciate if could write about any exercise that related to reduce the abs fat.
Hi Rumi,
This is very good initiative taken by u.
The Biggest challenge in this procedure is to keep our self motivated continuously for exercise…..and for weight loss also….and in diet its very hard to resist the sweet and high calorie food.
I want to know some 10-15 mins fast weight loss exercise which we can do everyday targeting whole body….and face also…since i want to reduce weight from face.
I would also like to know vegetarian diet that we can take….any tips or food to increase metabolism….
It would be really great if you can give some tips for pregnant women also that how can they manage their weight during pregnancy without effecting the baby
I am a strict vegetarian ….please include vegetarian tips and dishes also in your book.
ALL THE BEST
Hi Rumi,
I’ve been struggling to get started. I know I have to lose weight and somehow I just can’t seem to get started. Help! I’m 42 and need to lose 30 lbs at least. I am thigh, arms and back heavy. Would appreciate your suggestion for exercise and diet. I love dancing more than counting repetitions. Any suggestion?
Thanks.
My biggest problem areas are my stomach, thighs and butt. However, over the last couple of years I have gained so much weight that I now notice that my arms and even my face have begun show the weight.
I totally LOVE your exercise videos however I don’t have the space at home (where my computer is) to be able to watch them so I memorize what types of different moves you do and try to incorporate them the best I can after I go walking. The only thing I miss out on is your great enthusiasm!
My biggest problem for me is to stay motivated. I normally tend to workout for a week and then decide that I want to take a break just one day and then after that its awhile before I start again.
My biggest challenges with the diet is that I live with my mother-in-law and she is the one who cooks the majority of the meals and they are definitely not the healthiest. The family is of Hispanic descent so most of the food that is cooked is Mexican food which is not at all healthiest. So I try my best to eat healthy during breakfast and lunch and then just very small portions during dinner. Right now I am currently trying to count calories, however it is still too earlier to determine if it is working yet.
I am really looking forward to your new ebook. I try to take different things that I think may work or that I could do and try to fit them together in hopes of loosing the weight. So I am hoping that your book can give me a few new pieces to the puzzle!
Thank You!
Hi! My most problematic part of body is my abs, chest area and arms…I used to be skinny before but I gained weight. I just want to be healthy and not that skinny just like before.
I used to spend exercises everyday for about 30-45 minutes. I wanted to target my abs, obliques, and arms.
My biggest challenge is that sometimes I tend to be lazy, I normally do this at home not in gym.
I used to cook my own food everyday. but sometimes I am really tempted to eat junk and dairy foods..I don’t usually eat pork or beef…I love eating chicken, veggies and fish.
I have tried other pills just to regulate my bowel movement but I stopped cause many have told that it is bad for my health.
I wanted to firm and toned my muscles.. I need exercise that will not get me bored.. I wanted to lose some weight. I am 5’3” with a weight of 125lbs. though my BMI is within my limit I really look fat.
please help..thanks!
My biggest problem is that I hardly have enough time to exercise and I have no idea what kind of food I am supposed to eat….:0
My biggest challenge would be that I am eating when I have mood changes. (Bad, I know.) I want to be able to fit in my favorite clothes again without looking fat haha. Well, there is one thing to write about hehe
1. The most problematic areas in my body are arms, thighs and abs.
2. I can spend around two hours a day in exercising. I actually use all of your videos and play them over and over!
3. I think that the biggest challenge when it comes to exercising is mostly get up and start working out! once I get started nothing stops me
but that’s the hardest part for me.
4. I eat very light meals, five or six times a day. I try to put in them all that I like to eat but being really careful with the quantities. For example, for breakfast I have a cup of tea and an apple, then I have a banana, for lunch a big salad or a vegetable soup (sometimes I like to have some more food, so I eat chop suey, sushi, pasta with vegetables, rice with vegetables, etc), during the afternoon I usually grab a cup of tea, and then at dinner I have a salad or, if I cooked a lot for lunch, I ate what’s left
I like to cook, so I spend a lot of time on it, but I also would like to have quick and yummy recipes for when I’m on a rush
5. I haven’t tried many methods to lose weight. I just work out and eat properly, and try to have a healthy life style. But gain, my biggest challenge is to get motivated to start!
6. To finish this comment, I’d like to say how much your website has helped me to stay fit and healthy! I do your workout routines everyday and I have a blast! I told all my friends about it!!
Big Kiss From Chile!
–Tam.
I just want to know a way to tone my butt and get rid of fat on my stomach so I can finally see my abs. Some food suggestions would help.
1. My most problematic spots are my lower stomach where my belly button is and my inner thighs.
2. I love your home exercise videos however I can only spend 20-30 minutes in the morning doing theme. I’d love for you to target the core, stomach, butt, and legs.
3. My biggest challenge is getting up and the morning and finding the motivation to workout. I prefer to exercise at home but I like to use my school’s gym because it’s there.
4. I have no time to cook but I always keep my fridge stocked with vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. I usually don’t eat much maybe 5 small 200 calorie meals a day. Of course I make sure to drink my 8 glasses of water.
5. Spot reduction hasn’t work. I need a total body workout with maybe circuit training for the stomach, butt, and legs.
6. I’m going to be starting jump roping. I got a jump rope online at ebay for $1.00 free shipping that tells you how long you jumped, how many calories you burned, how much fat you reduced, and lets you set your current weight from 15kg to 150kg.
My biggest problem is that I love to eat snack foods, especially potato chips. Because I’m a vegetarian my meals aren’t too large or too fatty, but the things I eat in between meals, and especially in the evenings, really let’s me down.
I prefer meals that are easy to prepare, such as one-pot meals that I can cook in a crock pot in the oven or in a slow cooker, the kind of meals that can be prepared ahead of time.
I am also a very busy person who never seems to get time to exercise, but as a writer, I’m busy sitting down and writing so I don’t get much exercise while I work.
My most problematic part of my body is my stomach. Some days I think I look pregnant (although other people tell me I don’t) but it certainly doesn’t look good when I look down at my body.
And although I’d love to find an exercise that greatly reduces my stomach size, I’d also like to get trim all over, but I absolutely hate going to the gym or going for group runs, etc. I’d much rather exercise alone, except that I never do. Although I’m not a lazy person and I always clean my house, walk the dog, do the shopping, etc, when it comes to actually exercising I just never want to do it.
And I wish there was such a thing as zero-fat potato chips.
First, I would like to thank you for what you do, because with focus and dedication you see the results! Now, my body type would be pear shaped. I have more weight at the bottom than the top.
My targeted areas are my arms, back, stomach and thighs, especially in the back of them. I like the shape I am because once the weight is gone, the hour glass appears.
I like fruits and vegetables, so that’s not a problem. The problem is that I also like my meats and sweets, but am open to any suggestions that may assist me with my weight loss.
I do like to workout, and prefer to do it in the privacy of my own home. I also like to cook and would like to know more about different types of foods and the natural effects they have on the body.
Overall I would like to lose 40 to 50 pounds to start.
Hi Rumi,
All diet I’ve tried, never last long, e.g. fad diet, low carb diet, etc. I need some exercise that can burn fat but also build lean muscle and stay lean forever. Record home video is the best!Add aerobics video could be good
)
How to control hunger? What sort of food is good for the body but feel full of energy? It’s really difficult to get rid of fat around belly, thigh, waist, and arms (triceps). Cheers!
my problem is my tummy, how to burn fats
I do exercise and I lose weight too but the biggest problem is I lose more from upper body then lower body. I am trying all those exercises which you have shown for legs and thighs still.
Actually I am pear shaped woman so my maximum fat is around thighs. If I start exercising I lose weight from entire body but then lose more from upper body.
My biggest challenge is what to eat and what not to eat. I am a vegetarian and wondering what would help me to lose weight. Please help. And also please tell me about exercise that makes my fat burn thanks.
My biggest problem would be finding the time to exercise, or having the time to fix food that is healthy for me. My biggest body spot is my stomach it is the absolute worst part of me.
I am a 23 year old woman who’s biggest problem is sticking to a diet and exercise program. Every time I find a plan that I think may be perfect for me, one week later I realize it is aimed at a totally different weight loss group. I feel that most programs are either targeted at largely obese people, or people with intermediate fitness. What I would love to see is a program that aims to tone up areas and stay healthy with out needing to go to gym everyday and starve myself of the foods that I love.
I am disabled, and have trouble doing a lot of the modern exercises. What can I do?

I love foods. Mainly spicy foods. the fact is I do little exercise. I’m not extremely fat or anything like that, but most of my thickness is in my legs and hips. I love exercising at home but stop doing it if I feel that I have reached my limit or my confidence is where it needs to be.
I would love to have an exercise routine that I can do without having to stop if it is too much.
I also love to have an eating plan because I eat a lot. I really need foods with a lot of fiber so it can keep me full throughout the day and have me stop eating snacks on the side and stuff.
Finding good fiber meals probably wouldn’t be that hard. I know that there are a lot of other people who have this same problem and would like to have some food with fiber in it too. I love your exercises, and I thank you so much for caring about helping me lose weight.
I have fat mostly on my stomach, hips and arms.I can do a workout for not more than 30 minutes.I sometimes lack motivation and start exercising and stop again in a month or so. I have a feeling that when I stop I put on more weight again. Is this true?
At the moment I would like to focus in slimming around my hips and stomach. I have non veg Indian diet and can give an hours time at the most to cook everyday.
I really like your exercise videos as they inspire me to workout like you do and they have been helpful in the past when I was doing the workouts regularly.
Hope this information helps and looking forward to the new e-book.
Thank you
Hello Rumi-
I’m in my fiftys and I to look pretty good for my age yet-I have a problem with my stomach, arms and back. I have lost weight in the areas of my legs and buttocks yet my upper body remains the same-help!
hi, I really need to have a way to control my anxiety to eat and have a routine in order to eat healthy food even if I am on the go and need to have quick meals that don’t need much time to prepare or even any time. I also need different exercises that can be done without much equipment and to tight the belly, legs and arms. I consider that I have a good body figure just that I need to be in control of my eating and exercise since I tend to gain weight very easily.
One of my biggest problems is that I too exercise for a week and then stop and this goes on and on. Also, I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is eats meat so I find myself cooking for him and then just grabbing what I can for myself.
I would personally love a full cardio workout.
As far as diet is I tend to do really good for a week or two eating balanced and having small doses of the good stuff. But even then I go and end up eating halve of a chocolate cake and a jar of peanut butter on top.
Counter acting everything I have worked for.—the diet is the hardest for me I need filling low carb meals that are fast and cheap, I am a student on a small budget, not just plain whole wheat bread.
I don’t know what to eat and when. I fell like I’m good in my legs I need help on my abs, chest, arms, and back. However, I don’t have a lot of time to do work outs!
Recently I’ve put on weight around my thighs, hips and stomach. This is odd for me, as I’ve always been pretty active and flat stomached. I’m 24 so some people have said that it could just be an age change thing, but I would really appreciate your help and suggestions about how I can return to my former flat stomach and toned arms and ‘saddlebags’.
Thank so much!
I do a little bit of exercise twice a week at a gym, and would like to start exercising for about 30 minutes more at home.
My problem areas are abdomen and legs, with strength issues in my arms.
I have plenty of time in the evenings to cook, but I also cook for the family I live with, so I can’t cook rice or fish. Breakfasts and lunches have to be quick, so normally are cereal and tea, and something with veggies for lunch.
Thanks for writing me. My trouble areas, in my opinion tends to be in my upper body. I lose weight faster on my legs and thighs than I do my shoulders, arms and stomach, and I fear that I will end up looking beefy up top. I used to have an hour glass figure and I would like to get back to that. The part that I really hate about my body is my back and my love handles.
I am also have a sweet tooth and I do not know how to calm my carb cravings.
Please help! Thanks in advance.
I’m a single mom of 5 and a full time student. I rarely have time for anything. I lost some weight but put it right back on because I cant seem to find the time to exercise. I’m a single mom of 5 and a full time student.
I am 20 years old and I have been over weight my whole life. During high school I’ve tried all different diets… including the not so good ones. Once I did get the weight off it would stay off but then creep back to me, or if it stayed off I would hit a plateu.
I tend to binge eat junk food once every couple weeks and after a work out I always crave something salty. Chips are my biggest weakness.
I’ve been to several nutritionists and they all tell me different things. I’m 5’10″ and I weigh 235 pounds. I am Dutch and Portuguese so I know that I will never have that “stick figure” I just want to know what my ideal weight should be.
your website is fantastic!!! The workout video are so fun and it’s easy to just do several in a row on days when you work to exercise more. I also really like your advice on dieting, losing weight and simply be healthier.
I feel great in my body and it’s thank to you! I give the address of your website to all my friends that ask me how I keep in shape.
The hardest thing for is how to stay in shape and have fun. It’s so hard to be good and careful of what you eat when you go out often… so that would be my question for you: how to be good when you go out?
Thank you for everything, you are the best!!!
Hi I’m a person who wants to lose weight in legs (thighs) and in arms I don’t want it to be flabby anymore. And to lose weight in my stomach area is there anything you could give to do this!!!
My biggest challenge would have to be portion sizing in my diet. Its really hard to cut back when you don’t know what to cut back to.
I’m a high school senior whose often too busy to workout. I’m not concerned with losing weight, but I think fitness is important for everyone, not just those who are overweight. Teens have problems working out because either they don’t think its important, they don’t have enough time, they don’t find working out fun, or all three.
I find that I eat even when I’m not hungry and that usually adds to my weight issues. Since I’ve noticed myself doing that, I haven’t gained any extra weight and my weight stays constant. Now, I’m trying to find exercises that will help me lose weight, particularly in my arms, waist, thighs. Or just losing weight all over. I’m not that picky.
the biggest problem I have is to work out consistently. Once I stopped for 1 or 2 days I tend to not do it anymore. Another problem is eating. I go to school everyday and there is not much time to eat so I have to eat fast food and its bad for trying to lose weight.
Motivation!! Determination!!
How to keep these up I don’t know. I had it before and I really enjoyed working-out; was losing weight and was toned. But somehow I lost that ‘drive’ to keep me going, I’m on my summer break form uni, and I’ve hardly exercised at all, I’ve also eaten really bad (considering I normally like to eat healthily) and have gained half a stone. It’s a combination of laziness (on my part), lack of motivation and finding the quick way out(eating healthily is more time-consuming than ‘bad’ food).
Also have wanted to try running but get really shy about doing so in public, ways to overcome this? Plus quick ways to eat healthily, thank you.
My most problematic spot are my sides and my lower stomach. It would be great to get some home exercise videos for about 10 minutes for my sides mostly. My biggest challenge when I exercise is that when I exercise for a long time, I start to get lazy and workout begins to be torchure for me, so something fun would be keep me love doing workouts.I mostly eat home made food, which my mom makes its mostly oatmeal, meat, salads, fish and soup. I also try to not eat anything after 6, but if I really want something, I might grab a fruit or 2.
my biggest challenge is that I am constantly dieting. I don’t binge, I have stopped junk food for 2 years now, no more soda or snacks, replaced full cream milk with the skimmed one, no rice or pasta (only whole wheat and brown bread), I eat lean meat, and walk daily from 20-30 minutes. And yet, I gain weight on and off, as well as have problems with constipation and a bloated stomach has replaced what once was an “ok” stomach.
I have been to a nutritionist before, and lost in one month about 6 lbs, even though they were different diet plans than the one I usually eat.
what am I doing wrong?
I think the hardest part for me when it comes to losing weight is to actually stop eating junk food which are unnecessary calories. It’s like you go to the store and there it is.
I want to look better, so I want an exercise which focus on the lower part of the body from which I suffer .
I can do exercise half an hour daily specially when it targets the lower parts of the body .
I exercise at home and the big challenge is to continue working out as I work out 2 days and then I stop working out and begin again and so on.
I lost 20 kg of my weight but I always spoil the diet and gain some weight. I make a diet one week and the next week I spoil it. I gain much weight in a short period. I gained 8 kilos in a week before.
What I need is a good diet which contains variety of food in order not to get bored from it. I can cook for an hour .
I tried to challenge my self and to continue the diet in order to get fit and to be slim but I couldn’t. A week I am on diet, the other I am not and that bothers me a lot .
Hi Rumi,
I thank you for this great initiative. I’ve just had a baby by c-section so am waiting for 6 weeks before I can really start exercising. In the meantime I’ve walking just around the house and up and down our stairs. I can hardly feel the stitches now that baby is almost 4 weeks which is great.
My body shape has always been pear shaped. So I’ve always had issues with thighs and butt. Now of course that I’ve just had a baby the tummy also needs work.
I would appreciate any guidance you have to help get fit and more taut.
Thanks
Tina
I’m a 22 year old female, 5’4″, weigh 116 lbs., and I have to say that my problem areas are my stomach and my butt. I don’t really care to lose weight but I seem to have excess fat everywhere, just not as much as my stomach. My butt kind of sags a little lower than it should but it’s not that noticeable, though it would be nice to make it look bigger and firmer. I would also like chest exercises to prevent future sagging and just make them look perkier since if I’m going to lose fat all over, I’ll most likely lose fat in my chest as well.
Also maybe some exercises to make the waist smaller would be great. Lastly, overall exercises to firm and tone everything else would be nice.
I can do about an hour or less of exercise. I would like to incorporate walking/jogging in the park to my exercise as well. I would also like to use a few exercise equipment to aid in my exercise routine. I own a fitness ball, resistance bands, and a couple of free weights.
Like the title says, it’s hard to start, but even tougher to continue. I found myself starting to work out last week but I only worked out for two non-consecutive days, (Sunday then on Thursday). Not a bad start I guess but this week I hope to workout at least three and walk everyday in the park.
My diet is not that healthy, but it’s not that fattening either, though I have a soft spot for Mexican food. It’s pretty fattening, but the way my boyfriends’ mother cooks it, there’s not a lot of grease or fat in it.
I have used the P90 dvds once, though I’m pretty sure it would have worked if I had continued it…though I’m not sure if it would work out my problem areas to my liking as mentioned above.
I have trouble sleeping and I have tried everything to help me sleep. Melatonin only helps for one or two days then my body gets used to it real quick. I heard exercise can help wear a person down (depending on how much exercise a person does in one workout session) and help insomniacs, like myself, to fall asleep better, faster, and longer (than 4 hours). I know sleep is important to a healthy lifestyle, but I cannot achieve that if I can’t fall asleep when I have to and then stay asleep for a full 8 hours.
I have only been to your website a couple of times and didn’t really pay that much attention to it except to acquire information on diet and exercise. Now that I’m starting to get serious and willing to work out, I hope that with your help I could achieve my goals and be a healthy, happy person. Thank you for this opportunity!
Firstly, thank you for your site and the time you share with all of us. My biggest challenge is to stick to a routine, to be motivated to find the time to adhere to it. I am trying and hopefully your book will come up with great ideas. Good luck!
I would have to say that the things that I have the most trouble with are: finding time to exercise; finding a place that I won’t be disturbed, but is still comfortable to exercise in; what exercises I should do, in what order, on what days; what I should eat each day; flexibility exercises; and staying motivated instead of resolving to lose weight, sticking with it for a while, then letting it get pushed back for school work.
The areas that my fat tends to collect are my stomach, chest, thighs and, of coruse, my butt. Oh, and don’t forget the “love handles,” though I generally count that as part of the stomach.
I’ve considered trying some yoga exercises, and it would be nice if you could add some routines in as well – I want to lose weight, but I want to be really slim as well, instead of bulky. I heard somewhere that flexibility exercises help with that.
Hi Rumi,
I was doing exercise every morning for up to 1 hr. Combining 2 exercises sets. Well, it did help me to reduce my weight. I have lost almost 10 lb
Most of the time I was doing push up to control my belly. I still need to pay attention to my legs as I haven’t done much for that yet.
As for diet I didn’t follow any strict diet format but I was eating little bit whenever I was hungry and having green tea instead of coffee. water instead of soda. I also notice that if I sleep up to 6-7 hrs. I feel more energetic.
I guess for a change if you can make dance exercise video as well as Yoga that might help.
It would be great if you could upload video with your own instruction so, that I can be done more accurately.
I really appreciate whatever you are doing. I promised my fiance that I will have sculpted body by end of this year.
Thank you very much Rumi.
my biggest challenge is eating with co workers. I pack my lunch but when co workers go out to eat I want to go too! I do and I have NO idea what to get on the menu. Some salads have more calories then other dishes and that makes me not care what I get because its all bad. Is there anything to look for on a menu?
As a woman gets older, things change in the body. It is not as easy to lose weight and at times, the motivation isn’t there. Also, there are more issues with joints, etc.
There are so many exercise and diet plans out there that a person can get lost in trying to figure out how to start.
I would like to see different workout plans that tell you how to get started in the following areas:
Yoga
Pilates
Weight training (both free and gym equipment)
As far as diet, we all must realize that in order to maintain/lose weight, your intake can not exceed what your body really needs. In America, the food portions are out of control. We need education as to what constitutes a normal portion. Also, I have seen people on the new fad – the Cohen diet which is essentially a portion controlled diet in which food is weighed. When the calories are added up for one day, you can see that it is really a calorie counting diet – only disguised as portions. Makes it a lot easier.
Discuss the myths of exercise – you can’t eat garbage, workout hard three times a week and expect to lose weight. Talk about burning calories and how it affects weight loss/gain.
Also – emphasize that the wait look is not good and being healthy is.
I’m still very new to Rumiana’s workout routines but so far I love them! The 20 min videos are perfect and I do 2 videos per day.
My problem spot has always been my thighs! They always seem to be huge and they never go away!
Also I have the worst sweet tooth! I know I have too much sugar in my diet but I can’t seem to avoid it!
Hi Rumi,
Thanks for your follow up email. I’m still trying to figure out how to lose weight fast and what would work best for me. I am a full time working mother, each day of the week I always have a full schedule, most of the days I don’t get home until 7pm and by that time I’m already tired/exhausted.
My problematic areas are my arms and thighs. I’m 5′ 10″, my weakness is junk food, I love eating chips, cookies, chocolates, ect. My favorite meat is chicken, turkey and ham with rice. I can only cook during the weekend because those are my off days from work. I don’t like exercising at home, but I enjoy working out outside rather it be speed walking on the sidewalk or at the beach, we have a beach right across from my house. I hope your book will be able to help me. Any help or advice you can offer me, will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Poly
I want/need strength building – combo of soft aerobics and weights.
My problem areas are my stomach and my thighs.
I LOVE home exercise videos. I work out six mornings per week – approximately 45 minutes. I try to do overall body workouts.
The biggest challenge is making sure I schedule enough time in the morning, so I don’t feel rushed. I much prefer to work out at home. I know me – I will not take the time to go to a gym..plus the ones where I live are not open at 5am.
I eat fish three times per week, chicken or turkey once per week, the rest of my meals are vegetarian based. I generally eat fruit and yogurt for breakfast, salads for lunch, and vegetables and/or fish or chicken for dinner. I spend about 45 minutes per day cooking.
Food ideas for me are fish or chicken.
5. What you have tried and didn’t work.
Hard-core aerobics.
Some parts of my body are not going to change – based on age. I’m 60 and as my doctor explained, as we get older our fat “moves” and deposits itself into other areas – especially the abdomen.
I’m not overweight and thankfully, have never been. I am a breast cancer survivor and am very serious about my diet and exercise.
Thanks for such a good job.
A lot of people do say that I am not fat, but I’d like to think otherwise. I wouldn’t say that my body fat is evenly distributed either. My biggest problem areas are my arms and abs and I have tried various things to lose weight in these areas. Another area that I am looking to target is my thighs, glute?s and calves. I want to tone these body parts more than anything.
I do go to the gym and walk for about an hour regularly, but still I would like a video showing some exercises that I can do to work on my target areas. The duration of the video could be up to 60 minutes.
Regarding my diet, I try and avoid oily food as much as possible but at times I cannot help it. I would like a diet that strictly consists of vegetarian food. I do have the time to cook but at time it usually gets late, considering I have school and work. So recipes that are quick and easy to make would be a great help. I do not eat rice, so maybe you could omit that from the recipes.
I would really appreciate if you could be some tips on how to work around my problem areas so that I can lose weight real quick (at least by Christmas time
. Thanks for letting me share this with you and offering to help.
Hi Rumi,
My stats:Height 5.7 and Weight 157 pounds.
Normally people would not say am fat but I know my problematic body spots.
I have these lumps of fat or what we call Cellulite below my hips(i.e in the thigh area).
Also I have some extra fats stored in the midsection of my body like(abs, hips, butts & thighs).
I do have a little bit of double chin.
I would be able to spend some 20-30 mins around a day for a some easy but yet effective exercise to target these above areas.
I would prefer doing at home as my biggest challenge itself is hitting the gym ‘Regularly’.
Am following a Indian diet consisting some veggies like(greens, beans, rice, lentils)and non-veg like(eggs, chicken, fish).Yup the food is kind of medium spicy but not too much.
Some times at parties or outings, some heavy food becomes the part of meal. But once a week.So it could be a challenge in its way.
Seriously speaking,I haven’t tried anything as a regime yet but am always trying to keep myself active and simultaneously find some tips and tricks that would help me shed some pounds(10-15),thus having leaner legs, thinner chin and get rid of that bulgy belly.
Honestly I am the same as the person before. I start off really good but seem to fall off exercising and eating. Although I am better with the eating right. Seldom do I eat meat and I do more fruits and veggies then anything. On occasion I have been known to eat a few chips and cookies here and there but in small portions. Exercise when I am on it I am on it. My schedule is crazy since I have been back in school. so i am just trying to get organized and back on track. i love to do free weights at least twice a week and cardio at least 5 times a week. This along with diet is the only way i see results.
I am very active, but if I had to pick one body part it would have to be my butt! And when it comes to food my biggest challenge is dinner. I have three kids who are active in sports every night and we leave the house at 4:30 and don’t get home until 7 or 8. What kind of meals can I take with us so I don’t have to get them fast food. Also I like looking for different fat burning exercises from different people so I don’t get bored. I workout 5 days a week which includes running and strength training.
I am 50 years old and have been overweight most of my life. My weight is mostly from my waist down.I have a big middle and hips. I have a problem with staying away from sweets. That is my downfall. I have a treadmill and an elliptical downstairs, but find it hard to get motivated to get into a routine of exercising. I would LOVE your input on some weight lose tips for me. I am sick and tired of being fat. I feel ugly and I am very shy because of my weight and what people think of me.
My biggest challenge is finding enough time to exercise daily so I only do it 1-3 times per week. I prefer to watch workout videos at home that are no more than 45 min and that work on the whole body.
One spot that I am having trouble with is the lower stomach. I have lost some fat from the higher abs and butt, but cannot seem to lose it from the lower stomach.
As far as eating, I would like some healthy but quick meal ideas.
Firstly my waist is increasing day by day which I am unable to control. Second my tummy is forming tires due to which I am unable to wear skin fit t-shirts.
yes, if u can record then it would be great help. I can do 20 mins excercise per day.
Biggest challenge is to manage the same timing. As I don’t go to gym I do at home only so its difficult to maintain it. My biggest challenge normally when I start exercising is to gather enough energy or can say stamina.
I cook dinner for myself. I am a pure vegetarian not even eggiterian. My diet rite now is not proper.I eat 2 chapati’s + sabji.sometimes salad too.
I have tried to get early in the morning for a walk or for exercise but unfortunately unsuccessful in maintaining it.
Nothing special as such just want to reduce my waist size and little bit tummy.
hi rumi
I was thrilled to receive your mail.
I am glad to be able to respond to your query.
actually, my problem areas are the thighs and the abdomen. so it would be really helpful to be able to lose weight out there.
also, i have tried out your home exercise videos, but i find them pretty brief.. 20 mins..i know you have suggested to do 2 videos each day for optimal weight loss.. but then one does 1 video.. and then cools down and its difficult to do another one.
it would be better to have 45 min videos.
also, i feel that the videos could be a bit more intense coz i dint find myself losing weight easily even though i did the videos sincerely.
Regarding food, i am an indian so we basically eat wheat chapattis, dal ( lentils ), green veggies, boiled rice, curd , salad etc. \\
my weakness and temptation foods are pastas, cheese, chocolate.
am really looking forward to your book and i admire the way you have maintained your body.
the volume of the workouts could be louder. good music could be introduced.
also it would be better if you give some few seconds more before switching to the next set of exercises because at times its difficult to quickly change.
thanks a lot and love,
aarti.
The biggest challenge for me is to balance my professional life, and the time i have to take care of myself.
The part of my body i need to concentrate on is the thighs and butt.
As for the food, it just so happens that i loose and gain weight very easily, within a week, depending on what i eat. (Although i never starve myself)
Hi Rumi
Thanks for taking the effort to write this book. you have done a wonderful job with this website, it’s awesome. My biggest challenge is to lose these last few pounds. I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I feel If I lose another 10 pounds I would reach my ideal weight. I am 5’4″ and weigh around 136 pounds. The lower body is the most stubborn area from which I am trying to lose weight. Upper and lower abdomen areas are the ones which need lot of toning. Your video’s are awesome, can we have a video which works out the abdomen and lower body which lasts about 30 to 45 mins. About diet plan my preference would be vegetarian diet plan. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job!!
After 3 pregnancies, the skin on my stomach is stretched quite badly and is loose. i have no problem dieting or sticking to a routine but i just can’t seem to firm up after.
Getting time to exercise is not easy so i would like to find a way to exercise while doing household duties.
Looking forward to your book!

Well, my weight is evenly distributed, but i have around 20 lbs more than I want.. I am more of a pear shape, so i would like effective exercises and the suitful for my body type, in order to get my body firm, tight, without cellulite and flabby fat..
I am a student, and I live in a dorm, so I can’t cook that much..
hi
My biggest area of trouble is the fat around the arms and thighs ….people around me tell that I look healthy but I know that my thighs are the biggest problem area .I walk everyday for 30 minutes at 4mph then I do the leg exercises mentioned on your website .
I eat healthy like fruits, salads ,Indian food like chappati, curry .throughout the day I do good but at evenings I feel weak ,heavy n very hungry too.I can cook for 1 hr daily .
Keep the good work coming thanks a lot.
My exercise challenges are to work hard enough to actually notice the difference. I would like cardio based videos that last for about 30 minutes higher intensity and another 20 minutes for the warm up and cool down.
As for weight issues, my biggest challenge is constant nibbling. I have 4 small children that seem hungry all the time and have healthy snacks at home. But, even too much of a good thing is not good. So, I would like to address this.
Dear Rumi
Whilst i am not overweight, i at the age of 45 carry weight on my butt hips and thighs which is riddled with cellulite. Dressed I look slim, naked well it depresses me. I have only been this way the last 12 months since i cannot get my mental attitude in the right place to exercise. I don’t even know how to eat properly. i want to wear a bikini and feel good without the sagging butt and dimples, and side way thighs. I work full time so need something easy and effective.
Desperate dimpled and depressed. HELP
Hi Rumi.
I have tried every type of diet fad. The one most successful at weight-loss for me, has been the Atkins diet – but I could barely stay on it. Carbohydrates are everywhere. I quickly gained the weight back (and then some!). Having fallen off the Atkins band-wagon, it’s hard to get back on.
Time for exercising is also a problem. I leave before sunrise (for work) and return home after sunset. By then, I’m exhausted. The ideal workout for me is 15-20 minutes long, targeting everything.
My problem area is EVERYWHERE. I store fat somewhat evenly, though the stomach area is most obvious.
The main challenge for me is sticking to a diet and exercise plan. I have little time for myself, and eat mostly fast-food. I am willing to try any plan that takes this into account.
Thanks in advance, Sarita.
Zdravey,

I am an Indian and a strict vegetarian.I am a housewife aged 47 years.I do have plenty of time to cook and exercise but I prefer to cook less so I can eat less. I would like to exercise at home and request you to suggest diets and exercises that would suit my lifestyle.
I tried some of your exercises but end up with body aches . Is it because of my age or is it just the teething problem? I find your site very interesting but I am a bit apprehensive too maybe because of my age . I cannot afford sprains at this age.
It would be wonderful for a many a woman like me if you could consider the slightly lethargic style that most of us housewives at this age lead.Hopefully you can give us a new zeal and make us feel more confident, energetic and above all look younger too.
I think my biggest problem is finding the time to actually workout. With school and everything else I can’t seem to find time to exercise like I should. Last night was the first time in a week I went for a walk.
I do workout but end up not losing weight because of my eating habits. eating late at night is preventing me from losing weight. or sometimes i’m just too hungry..eating the wrong food. if i don’t workout for quite some time….i’m just so lazy to start it again.
My largest opponent to exercising and healthy eating is chronic fatigue syndrome and loss of back and abdominal support due to cesearean section(x2). My joints ache after exercising for 3 days with weights and my body fat in the abs and buttocks are very stubborn. In young adult years I was always naturally thin but after the last two children(x6) my metabolism has slowed down to almost nothing..not exaggerating! I will work out to exercises like The Firm, Walk away the pounds with Leslie Sansone,Jillian Michaels from Biggest loser, and I am in tears by the end because I refuse to quit but have exhausted my bodies energy supply. I have also been recently diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia..with almost no ferritin levels..so you see I am fighting a battle literally with my body.
I need low impact but highly effective fat burning to get my body to do anything..I also seem to gain it back quickly if I lose a few pounds….The doc says my thyroid is good but I have many similar symptoms but have discovered that low ferritin levels can mimic low thyroid..so who knows. The doc has said there is no help for chronic fatigue (epstein barr virus) so any advice would be welcome…
My biggest dietary setback is …my sweettooth:} It may be due to anemia..or something who knows…I eat well roundedly; meats, grains, dairy, veggies(all colors,)cookies, cakes, and candy..so there you are ..the honest truth….HELP!
My biggest challenges are staying on diet, regaining weight after substantial loss, getting myself to exercise is so hard. I am just not motivated to exercise much as I know the importance and that it is key in losing weight.
Hi Rumi,im Krisztina from Malta, its been 2 weeks since im doing your exercises(3 at the time) every day(lost 2kg) and im eating mostly proteins(meat, egg whites, cheese and yoghurt) ,vegetables and fruits.Im a nursing mother(5months daughter) and that’s the reason why i dont want to stop fruits.I lost 6 kg with my delivery and another 10kg in 5 months. For the moment im 76kg and 164 cm,I have been never so fat and its really bothering me.My goal is to lose another 16kg in the next 4 months(4kg /month) and honestly i don’t really have time for more exercise. What can i do to speed up a bit my metabolism? If i keep doing your workouts am i going to succed?Or i wold need more conditioner training ?what could i exclude from my diet that would help me lose the wheight?thanks for everything ,Kristina
Hi,
My challenge is I work for few days and then stop for the next few days. This is something to do with me, because its how seriously I take up the whole thing.
I eat a lot during the weekends when I am at home, else my food is balanced during the weekdays. This is again something to do with me.
But what I would like to see is some free downloadable vidoes, wherein some work outs are demonstrated. So that I can play them and do by watching it regularly. Also I would like to see exercises focussing around chest, abdomen (need a flat tummy desparately!!!!!!) and shoulders, neck and bisceps and thighs. Oops I have covered everything almost!!!!!
I want to get toned… i don’t have a problem area.
I want something that can be done in 40 min.
I spend a lot of time cooking! =D I like making my food, I’m not vegetarian but I eat a fairly vegetarian diet…
Well… Good luck with the E-book! =D
Exercises to improve butt, calves (I’ve never managed to get them thinner!) and inner arm.
That would be great indeed! 20-25 min is good and parts mentioned under point 1 would be perfect!
at home because I have irregular working hours and find it impossible to go the gym
My biggest challenge is to have diversity in my meals, especially in the evenings. I’m usually too tired to cook and have no idea how to prepare simple but tasty meals in less than 20 minutes.
5. What you have tried and didn’t work.
low calories diet: they’re usually too boring and aggressive as well for the body. Also, my biggest issue is my sugary craving. I’d like to reduce my taste for sugar but don’t know how.
Many thanks for your website and all your ideas, tips and pieces of advice!
My biggest problem spot is the tummy area and my legs. I guess we are all different and accumulate body fat in certain areas.
I try to exercise 45 minutes a day, I use a cross trainer elliptic machine. My biggest problem is I am only motivated for short periods of time, then if something comes up and I miss a day and stop my routine, it makes me lazy to start all over again.
What I have tried and hasn’t worked are diets…I just get hungrier, I feel deprived and my stomach aches when I am in a diet. Just can’t eat less quantities.
I eat a Mexican diet, full of corn tortillas, beans, eggs, rice, spicy sauces, meats and poultry. The tortilla is my biggest problem, I just crave them.
Any suggestions are welcome..thanks
Well, I don’t really have too much problem. My size is 5’3″ and 120-125lb. But my husband is in trouble. He is 5’5″ and now 180lb! He used to be 135lb., and after he hit 30, he’s consistently gaining extra pound every year. He hate exercise but once in a while, he gets panicked when he sees his body in picture. We play tennis 3 times a week, I think I cook pretty healthy but I think his metabolism getting lower and no physical activities (he does programming) make him gain weight. I don’t know how to help him.
I have a hard time finding time to really work out. Sometimes life happens and you just can’t scrave the time. That’s the hardest part… and eating healthy takes time too. I wish there was a way to know (in a hurry) how to make healthier choices without breaking the bank and quicker.
my biggest challenge is to reduce weight from my belly and thighs. i can’t go to gym with small kids, so i prefer to work out at home. At presently i do treadmil 30 min for 5 days a week .And for diet i don’t know what to eat and what to avoid, but i want suggestion on Indian diet.
I think the toughest part of the body tone up the lower abs (aponeurosis n superior spine of the illium). so i would like to get videos of lower abs workout.
My biggest problem is that I feel like I am hungry ALL THE TIME!! It isn’t boredom, my stomach atcually hurts. I need things to fill me up longer with out the fat!!!!! All of my fat is in my belly, thighs and butt! I can not get rid of it!
Hello, how are you doing?
My problem areas that I have a hard time losing weight in are my buttocks, thighs, and especially my stomach. I have been going to water aerobics every now and then. I do not have enough time in a day to go out and work in the gym. When I went to gym I did dance aerobic classes, walked on the treadmill, and rode the stationery bicycle.
I need help in finding exercises which will benefit me in the long run, yet, will help me lose the pounds or tone up my muscles in my buttock, thigh, and stomach area. Also, I have cut back on my red meat intake. Now, I mostly eat fish, vegetables, and have something like a slim fast every day. Sometimes, I do slip. I love sweets especially chocolate that is my biggest downfall. I hope there is not a big cost or maybe no cost for this information.
Thank you so much for your time,
Jamia
my challenge to lose weight is the drive. i mean i want to but each time i start i cant finish help me plz
Hi.
My biggest hurdle is that my weight does not move on the scale. I need to lose 10 pounds on scale but no matter what exercise or diet i take, it doesnt happen.
Hi,
I have put on almost 15 Kgs of weight from past an year,I need exercises to reduce majorly my chest, stomach, butts and thighs.
All these four parts of my body have made my confidence level real low.
And also, I need some exercise to reduce the fat accumulated in my face.. cheeks and jaw line.
This is really very important for me.
And yes I prefer videos for early morning exercise with detailed explanation for each step. I guess I can spend around 30 to 40 mins of my day as I leave by 7.30 early in morning for my job and return back only by 9.30 in the night
I tried exercising at home but very easily lost the interest in it. So I joined gym off lately but still no much use from it. My biggest problem is I lose my motivation very easily
Diet, Mine a pretty rich Indian diet.
my general morning breakfast would consists of either 3 dosa or 3 chapathi or 3 roti or 3 idly or 3 cups of rice.(all these would contain salt and oil)
By around 10.30 in the morning I have 4 biscusts. For lunch around 12.30 I have rice with curry r 3 chapathi and curds. Then by 4.30 I have chats. And dinner by 9.30 would consists of chapathi or rice again as my lunch.
Since I work all day long I have no time to cook? but my mom would prepare it for me.
All I request is to give me pretty good Indian diet and best exercise to reduce fat in my complete body including my face.
And do let me know what can I have as replacements for food which is tasty also healthy as well.
My biggest challenge is my abs and my thighs. But I am doing great progress with the exercise videos. I can’t never do diets though…I get bored of eating the same thing over and over again.
I am pear shaped so I need to loss weight around my tum, bum and thighs. But I also need toning exercises for my upper body as my arms are starting to swing!! Watching your videos on you tube was a great help.Be good to get some diet tips as have tried many diets.Weighing my food was such a pain after awhile and some of the diets turned out pretty pricey with all the food you needed to buy.Look forward to your e-book, thank you Rumi.
I just know one thing… I don’t eat much, but am still fat. I feel, it must be due to my irregular time routine of intake of food. Then i prefer to exercise at home. While i used to do my yoga regularly, it had shown positive changes.
but i find it quite difficult to put it in routine, when i go for work. and when i return, i’m too tired to do any exercise. though i walk around a lot in my work space, it hasn’t helped me much.
Hi Rumi,
My biggest challenge: to be consistent and committed towards my workouts and diet. Problem with my diet:not that i eat too much it is that I don’t eat enough and on time. My doctor told me, that, I am not eating on time and enough due to which my body is retaining fat.
And I think the reason for not doing that is, that i am a busy working woman, who does not have time to plan meals and prepare them in advance, so when time comes to eat breakfast and lunch it feels like a big challenge. With Workout: it is hard to stay motivated alone, specially when you don’t get/see the results you wanted. I think i solved that problem by joining group workouts.
The most problematic part of my body is…??? EVERYWHERE. I have always been overweight. Now post my surgical menopause, the weight is piling on in the most unlikely of places and in huge globs of fat!!
I can spend the morning for exercise. Recording home exercise videos will be a good idea.
The biggest challenge when i start exercising is that i shirk exercise, when i do get to it, the discipline doesn’t last more than a week. i prefer exercising at home.
I EAT!! I eat when i am hungry, when i am not hungry, in short i eat all the time. the more i eat, the more the addiction. I know diets, i know how to balance a good diet, in fact i generally eat 3 square well balanced meals regularly. the problem is that i also eat in between and whenever someone is not looking. I hide food all the time so that others around me don’t guess what my problem is.
I have tried EVERYTHING…you name it and i have tried it. I specifically could do with fat burning exercises….i just need to get this off my body, if not it will in all likelihood consume me one day.
Lately, I haven’t had time to work out, and as a result, I’m not motivated. After I work out, I want to eat healthy. However, if I don’t work out, I tend to snack more and eat unhealthy food.
I need exercises for arms, belly, thighs and hips, as I have got more weight around those areas as I am pear shaped.
Yes, more home exercise videos, but maybe longer like 30 mins. As people say you need to do exercises for more than 30-60mins. Probably more convenient in the morning or at night after dinner for me.
I don’t sweat that much. So I feel like all the exercise I am doing is pointless. I exercise at home, as I cannot afford gym. I prefer doing at home.
I am vegetarian (no meat no eggs no fish). I am trying out the Special K diet at the moment. With 2 bowls of cereal a day and whatever we cook for dinner. But I take that in small portions. I don?t really have time to cook, as I am at uni student living at home.
I?ve been exercising since AUG 2009, but I have felt no effect. So I downloaded this calorie counter application for mobile and it really helps me keep track of how much calories I eat and how many calories I have burned.
Could you in your videos at least mention how many calories you can burn from each exercise as that would help?
That?s why I am trying Special K diet, so I can lose weight fast before I go uni. But I feel it taking ages and nothing is really having any effect on my body. And then I feel like giving up. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much
Anon (UK)
Sports that I am having the most trouble with are those which require stamina in general. I have a weak cardio-vascular ability.
Home exercise videos would be very much appreciated; I spend around half an hour to 45 minutes per day at home for exercising, though shorter exercises would also be useful.
I need to workout almost all of my body parts, but in general, it would be my abs, arms and legs (since I need them for badminton practice)
My biggest challenge when I start exercising is that I lose interest and I fall out of habits that I try to start; I would prefer exercising at home.
I am still a student, so it would be best if you could include simple but effective ways of exercising. Thank you
My biggest problem is my stomach. I had a C-Sec for my babies and feel as if no matter what I do I cant firm myself up. Another problem is my arms. I have the jiggle problem. I don’t exactly know what to eat or how often and what makes it worse is I don’t like my veggies. I disguise it when I can in my food. How can I work around these issues with my food choices and my problem areas?
Hi I would like to lose my stomach, love handles, firm my butt and legs. Loose inches in my arms.

Hi I would like to lose my stomach, love handles, firm my butt and legs. Loose inches in my arms.
For me the biggest challenge is not to eat sweets. I’m trying but sometimes the temptation is too big. My other problem is to eat many vegetables. It takes less time to make a sandwich with chess than to make a sandwich with tomato or other vegetable.
My biggest challenge to overcome a weight loss plateau
I’m not fat or over weight. But I like to exercise to keep fit. However the biggest challange for me is that my thai’s are flabby & I find it difficult to keep them toned. I would like to know how I can work on this without putting too much pressure on my knees.
Please include more videos — specifically ones that target abs, butt, legs and arms… I have gained 20 pounds, my eating habits and appetite have changed over the past year and a half and I cannot find the daily motivation to exercise consistently. I do not want to diet.. I want a lifestyle change in order to maintain healthy work out and eating habits. At times I will wake up walk to the gym and do some strength training and at times I will follow exercise programs on TV. However I need to follow a routine daily in order to be successful. I am trying my best to focus on eating good proteins and good carbs daily. I cook at home everyday and I refuse to eat out. I am also getting married June 2010 and I NEED to look my best.PLEASE HELP!!!!
My biggest problem is that I do not have a lot of space at home to exercise, and I do not own exercise equipment or anything of the sorts (like some work out videos require). The closest gym is 20 minutes away, and I find that the distance is a big non-motivator. I also find my workouts inconsistent. I will work out for a week, and then a week off..and so on.
In terms of eating, I find myself always hungry, therefore I snack very unhealthily. The day times for me are pretty good, because I teach and I obviously do not have the opportunity to eat, but the weekends are awful. I love healthy food, as well as not healthy food, and I will try anything. I just need something that will keep me full and healthy.
hello dear m a 28 year old female and having a baby girl by surgery. my weight is 85 kg and i want to know that what kind exercises i should do at home. i want to know the diet details aswell. i use to have a very lazy life style and dont hav activeness in the life. what shud i do to loose weight soon. i have more fat on my butt and lower abs…
Thanks and regards
Time management and diet controls
I am 21 years old so fairly young, but I am fresh out of school, and when I was younger is was much easier to stay active. I feel I am at a transition stage and I need to get back into shape. I am getting married in 9 months and would love to look my best.My most problematic body parts I would say is definitely thigh and butt. Thighs especially though. I have a small upper body, & at one time my thighs were smaller and, and not carrying all the weight, I’d like to get those thighs back as quickly as possible.
I prefer to workout at home. I have had a gym membership for all the years I attended school and I have even then preferred to workout in the comfort of my own home.
My biggest challenge when I start is maintaining motivation. I can work out no problem for a week or 2 but then I stop. A couple of weeks later I try to start over again.
Seeing as how I am 21 and engaged, my fiance and I like quick, easy meals. We eat lots of meat (all kinds) & salads. We don’t exactly know how to eat healthy meals. We understand the 5 food groups, but some easy healthy meals would be ideal. We like cooking, so if we like the meal we’ll put the time into it, but usually we spend about 15-20 mins prep. & however long the cooking time takes.
Thanks for everything thus far!
Hey Rumi,
My biggest challenge to lose weight is not being able to eat sweets! I love sweets like cake and cookies, and I struggle with it almost everyday. I need to know how to take away this cellulite that is on my legs when i sit down. I also will love to tone my butt and leg muscles.
I eat many foods from different nationalities, but especially Spanish food, but I do not like spicy food, I cannot eat it because I have a stomach problem (gastritis).
I always complain that I am fat,but people say I am not. My problem most of my weight is on my butt and my legs. I think that 45 to 50 minutes a day would be a good work out for me, since I could possibly do it 3 times a week.
I work out only at home, and I think your exercises are great, because they are done in your house. I really want to look good for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My biggest challenge is maintaining my weight, because I gain and lose weight. Now I am trying really hard to loose weight and I can not loose weight.
Thank you for your helpful excersises
1. Is drinking water a good way to kill hunger between meals? So if I eat three meals a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner – instead of snacking in between meals is water a good way to satisfy the hunger pangs?
2. Is it good to exercise on an empty stomach early in the morning?
3. When is the best time to check your weight?
4. My most difficult spots to lose weight are on my stomach and thighs.
5. How can a person increase their metabolism?
6. How can a person force their body to utilize their stored fat? Are there any tips?
7. I try to work out one area per day. I spend 45 minutes a day exercising. I’m 129 pounds and I’m 5’1 aged 28. I’m trying to lose around 15 pounds.
8. I definitely prefer exercising at home! Just willpower is needed to continue exercising, coz there is no magic formula to lose weight. It takes time, and needs a lot of willpower. Diet is also very very important!
5. What you have tried and didn?t work.
>> Exercise without diet control is a FAILURE!!!
Good luck!
I am 32 and i think my metabolism has slowed down a lot in the last few years.
My biggest problem is that I have just had 2 children very close together. It has left my stomach very soft/ loose skin, my thighs are bigger than I would like and need much toning, as well as under my upper arm, is very soft. I want to have firm body and lose my soft loose belly.
My strength levels are lower, get tired very easily.
Cannot diet as I am still breastfeeding and will be for another 5 months, minimum.
I find it difficult to exercise, due to children, housework, cooking etc… I quick powerful exercise would be more beneficial. I like to exercise md morning, after giving children breakfast, sometimes I cannot get to exercise until late night.
For food I usually cook everyday. I have breakfast, sometimes have lunch, or just a snack for lunch and evening meal is main meal when all family is together, e.g curry or stew with rice, my family prefer spicy food. A quick meal that everyone can eat, including my young child would be easier as cooking separate meals will be difficult to maintain. Also little snacks that are good for me, and still satisfying would be good to know.
I exercise at home, usually on a bike and with some push ups/sit ups. but still taking easy following cesarean birth of my last baby.
post pregnancy diet
my biggest challenges are
finding healthy meals to eat daily
finding ways to keep myself motivated to exercise
should i weigh myself regularly or not?
what weight should i be? and what kind of goals should i set?
also should i exercise until my body cant take anymore or pace myself?
you seem so smart at being healthy and living an active lifestyle, im really excited for this book!
I just want to learn to lose weight healthy, keep it off, and have healthy habits for long term.
My biggest problem is core strength. Very weak in that area, so a gradual build up work out would be nice.
Also, i am frequently in hotel rooms and want a well rounded work out you can do in a hotel room when there isn’t a gym.
I want to eat and exercise better so that I can feel happy about my body image. I do a lot of walking, and I feel like my body is uneven: I have skinny arms and legs but a kind of pudgy stomach. I’d also like to improve my posture.
As far as eating goes, I’m at university and don’t have the time (or the kitchen!) to cook. I mostly eat at the cafeteria, and their healthy foods are the same thing day after day. The foods that are bad for you are the most tempting!
i find my tummy area difficult to lose and other wise the whole body is loosing shape due to fat that i ve gained over sometime now..i think being a student, good diet, healthy workoutof 3 months to trim me for very imp occasion is what i need from you rumi.n then i ll keep a check in future:-)
The main problem of gaining weight is that I do not always eat when I’m hungry. I eat sometimes because I am under stress, or worried, or even if I’m thinking about something.
I Exercise at home, no time to go out to the gym. I have a treadmill and Ab shaper who are doing a great job in decorating the corners of my workout room. I love aerobics with music, but I cannot find any in my country here in the Middle East.
Workout MUST be fun for me to do, I am not the type of person who can easily start and commit to a habit. It has to be different and fun. I need to laugh and smile while doing it. I also like to learn a few things while doing that i.e. a few dancing steps or routine…etc. I do love to have a graceful body. I don’t want to be thin, I just want to be nicely curved without having parts of my body popping out from my jeans or my short sleeved tops (fat arms).
Fat is mostly accumulated on my hips. I have this pocket like curve on both my hips that makes me look as if I have things stuffed in my pocket lol..they won’t go away. I also have a big problem with my lower abdomen area, not the tummy but underneath the belly button. This area is always popping out and will never go away no matter how much weight I loose or how much I work out.
I would say an overall of the body with emphasis on tummy and buttocks! My problematic areas are tummy/ waist and bum!
Another idea would be to create a weekly chart perhaps!
The hard part is starting to exercise, once I start I want to do it the whole time. I love the feeling of muscles in pain. I started going to the Y at lunch time as mornings are hectic with a tween and a baby. At night am just too tired
I LOVE cooking, so I do not mind spending an hour doing so after a full day of work. I cook very much Mediterranean style, lots of fish and greens. My challenge food, is that I do have a little sweet tooth and enjoy a little chocolate, ice cream, pie or something of such after dinner
For me what works best is a routine and sticking with it
THANK YOU for your site. It is extremely motivational and has a lot of great information
Hi, Since having two children I have this terrible belly that I want to get rid of. Eating well and the little bit of excercise I do does not seem to budge it. I want to know how to get rid of this lengthy waist line I have developed. I would like a weekly workout that I know I have to do..that is…say 50 push ups/100 star jumps etc per day. Cheers
Hi I am approaching 40 and I have four kids between the age of 13 and 3. My problem areas is my rear and thighs. Recently I have notice my arms are thick and are fitting tightly in my long sleeved shirts. My biggest problem is time and I have NO WILLPOWER.
Thanks for listening to my compliants.

hi how r u?
i want to lose weight upto 10pounds to get into normal weight beacuse we r planning for kids.
one thing i like ur videos.
My biggest problem area is my inner thighs and cellulite..the rest of my body is getting toned but i am not able to wear short tops because of my inner thighs. They are still flabby. I realized that my body responds better with heavy weight training and not so much with cardio.
Your videos are good for beginners but I hope you also have something in weight training for intermediate people like me. I also would like to see more variety in the exercises since sometimes it gets monotonous with handful of exercises and many repetitions.
Your videos really helped me when i was a beginner and hope it will do the same this time. You are doing an awesome work! I love the way you motivate us in your videos! Keep it up!!
MY big challenge is the food !
I have a problem to chose what to eat and then my diet is not a diet anymore
I think your 20 minute videos are an excellent idea for ladies who are very busy. If you can make the videos to be stacking, they would be even more helpful. By stacking, I mean that there are days we might be able to do two or even three together, so if you make them so that they can flow easily one to the next, and so that when placed together they get a good spectrum of motion, it would be most helpful. Make two stacks of three videos each so they can be used every other day. Or they can be used one a day for six days. Or if used two at a time, they will last for three days.
You already have some wonderful videos there, but still have not come up with some pre-childbirth and after childbirth videos. That might be difficult for you, but would be very handy.
And please don’t put any music with them. We can all put our own music with them, or listen to something else while we are exercising if you just do your verbal instruction without the music.
As far as diet, vegetable dishes, cold or hot salads with grains, and such things would be nice.
You have done a great job, Rumi, and I have told a lot of other ladies about you. They all like you.
My challenge is too lose weight from my abs and abdomen. Although the fat is evenly distributed throughout my body, still my tummy appears much heavier than the rest of my body.
I did loose weight by regular exercising but I tend to gain it as soon as I reduce the frequency of my exercise sessions.
I am excessively frustrated .!!
how to loose weight and eat healthy.
Hi:
My serious concern is about spot reducing.
My Lower body looks strange compared to the upper one.
I am fit and do not need to lose weight except for the outer thighs and buttocks toning.
I wish I can find the solution with you.
Hi Rumi,
I think my biggest challenge in weight loss is lack of motivation and binge eating especially whenever I am little bit stressed out,I start to eat just anything junk to divert myself from problem. Whenever I keep my diet in control, I start seeing results.
Thanks for seeking my opinion,
Sonia
My biggest challenge is to stay focused on my nutrition habits. I love to go out to restaurants to eat, not necessarily a bad meal but occassionally I like to get out of the house and enjoy the atmosphere of a nice restaurant rather than just cooking at home. Most of the time I can stay on track but I find myself wanting other things besides the clean foods I am eating and I don’t really do bad its just hard to focus sometimes. Exercise I can handle but nutrition tends to be my big issue.
i have trouble exercising everyday and food is everywhere. what is the best thing i can do? I need your help
Biggest challenge is not enough time.
hey!
i live with my family and my mom does not allow me to diet so i have to eat the same food that is being cooked at home. i want you to tell me a work out that is really effective for my entire body n gives me a nice shape my weight is round 55kg
thanks!!
One of my biggest challenges to lose weight is staying motivated. I will buy workout supplies, and buy candy after. I lost 15 pounds using Herbalife, but i cannot do them shakes for the rest of my life, so i gained it all back. Lately I have been thinking i have an eating disorder because i think about food all day long, have low-self esteem, and even cry after i eat. I am not overweight but i do not feel good with the body i actually have.
Hello Rumi,
The biggest challenge when trying to lose weight is to stick to the right diet. I have a tendency of eating bigger portions of food especially because I exercise quite a lot. I don’t find it difficult to stick to my exercise routine. I love working out. The big question is how do I get myself to NOT eat that much? Thanks
The challenges that I face is that I have no time to exercise or make healthy food. If i exercise also I want to get rid of that weight immediately & after 1-2 weeks I get really demotivated. Moreover, by the time I come home I am so hungry that I eat unhealthy food as I don’t want to cook.
I also tried eating at 6 pm but at night i feel hungry again & did not know which snack that i can take that will have no carbs or less carbs
My main trouble spots are hips, butt, stomach, and under my arms. I am not overweight but need toning.
I prefer to look at a chart rather than using a video. That way I can go at my own pace. Sometimes the videos are too fast for me and I get tired before it is done.
I prefer to exercise at home.
I only cook dinner in the evening. Breakfast and lunches are fend for yourself at my house.
I usually spend an hour on cooking dinner and my family is meat and potatoes usually.
I have tried the videos and it didn’t work for me. I gave up because I get tired too fast and I can’t keep up.
I need to know what kinds of drinks are healthy for me and my family. Also late night snacking is a problem for me.
1. The challenge for me is less about focusing on any particular body part, as it is aerobic exercising. It needs to be fun! I sorta like my body – which hasn’t changed too drastically in the past 12 years – but I would like to get rid of my gut. I can camoflage it well tho
2. I like your videos – I think they should be from 10 to 40 minutes long. Especially when you are combining aerobic and target exercises. I would like to be motivated in the morning or evening – but it’s all about getting started, you know?
3. The biggest challenge for me is getting started, and a gym is more of a motivator. I have exercise equipment at home that sits and I don’t have enough room right now in my living room to do an aerobic-type exercise routine – it’s awfully frustrating!
4. Eating. Oh my. I love to eat but I should stay away from carbs. It’s not good for me – because I have diabetes in my family. I like to cook when I have time – and try to put more veggies and protein than carbs.
5. I have tried the South Beach Diet – and it really works – I’m sure it would work better if I actually exercised tho. Starving DOESN’T WORK. I tried the point system on Weight Watchers, it was annoying. I tried counting calories, equally annoying. I find the South Beach to be the best so far.
6. Thank you for asking my opinion!
Two of my biggest challenges to lose weight are
1: No time to excercise
2: I diet for sometime and then fall into these eating binges and gain more weight than I lost
Abs!!! And keeping my thighs slim, they’re not fatty but seem to build up muscle really quickly which makes them look bulky…
Exercise videos are GREAT! It would be wonderful if you could make them of varying lengths, some for an everyday quick fix and some longer ones for days with more spare time…
I find it hard to stay motivated on my own, so a plan to follow or videos for moral support are a great help.
I try to eat as big a variety of food as possible, can’t resist the occasional bit of choc but am being sensible (lots of fruit and veg, mostly freshly prepared food etc.) most of the time. I usually have time to cook properly on the weekends, so meals that can be cooked in bulk and then frozen are fantastic!
Stick to too strict diet regimes – they just make me feel hungry and grumpy…
My biggest challenge is that I have a busy routine because of which I tend to ignore my lunch and end up eating a lot in the evenings. I would also like to get back to my healthy weight range which means I have to be about 15-20 kilos lighter than I am right now. I can do it with the right diet and workout. my target is 4 to 6 months. I am 5 feet 2 inches and weigh 80 kilos
I am so busy I seldom am able to eat at home. Always eating out. My diet is awful.
My problem is the high cost of Low fat and Low sugar food stuff, I just can’t afford it.
The other thing is the time, i would like to find exercises I can easily incorporate into my daily routine.
I am fifty-two years old, five feet, one inch (!) and am currently at 170 lbs. I need to lose fifty pounds. Tomorrow would have been my 31st wedding anniversary but my husband left me in January, but it wasn’t really over until this week. I am lost mentally, and out of control physically. Please help. Oh, yeah, my last period was Feb. 09, so since “menopause: hit, I am suddenly bloated in my stomach, and that had never happened before. I am emotional, but ready to make changes to better my life. I need to feel better about myself and just better physically. I have a bad left knee; the doctor thinks the next step is a scraping of the arthritis. My left shoulder hurts, and my right thumb was recently broken. I can still exercise though, so answer my prayer, please. Thank you in advance from the new me.
My biggest challenge while exercising is to indulge in caramel goodies & starbucks icey drinks.. I used to workout before & eat less but I’ve never deprived myself from sugary drinks, they are my guilty pleasure and I would like a solution to shrink my jumbo thighs into skinny jeans without cutting out the love of my life for good!
I hope this is good enough for your book.. good job and keep up the excellent work!
my most problematic body parts are my legs and bum and seem to be the hardest to shift weight from, while my stomach and chest seemed to lose it first.
as i’m a student in university, when i am home i go the gym (mostly to aerobics, step or tums and bums classes a couple of times a week) which give me energy but whilst in university i don’t have the time or money to afford them. i would love to be able to have a good choice of home exercising videos for while i’m away!
i also tend to find when i am home i have more time to cook meals and i eat 3 healthy meals a day and a few snacks if i am extra hungry. one of my days food for example are:
breakfast: special k with semi skimmed milk and a cup of tea
dinner: wholemeal pitta bread with ham and tomato. A packet of snack a jacks
tea: 1 chicken fillet, brown rice and a mix of vegetables
snacks: fruit, nuts, cereal bars, cup of tea
and i drink lots of water (sometimes with sugar free squash as it tastes nicer!)
i tend to find the evening hardest as i will always crave food then, mainly chocolate! so i will have a low fat muller rice if i do which are very tasty.
but i do treat myself once in a while and have a bit of chocolate or ice cream
when it comes to dieting i have always found it extremely hard when getting started, with exercising and cutting back portion sizes and with no distinct weight loss. but after a while it slowly starts to come off and u feel the effects. which then gives you the motivation to keep it up!
if i have one tip it is using a tape measure, measure around ur upper thigh, arms, hips and waist and record them and the date down. do this every month, i have found it much more reliable in telling you have lost weight and are toning than the scales!
I have lost just over a stone in 2 months and a lot of inches have come off too!

I desperately want to transition into an all-raw way of eating but need to put together a simple eating plan. Although I do a simple dumbbell workout each morning, I need to know how to build up my skinny calves – I am big everywhere else.
thanks for your email, and good luck with your book
thought i’d come and comment because there is ONE thing that i do struggle with… i live with my family, which includes 4 siblings, 3 of which are younger than me and still in school, etc. a huge problem i am unable to overcome (which consequently leads me into giving up in my healthy eating and exercising ;P) is that the house is full of little easy to eat bad snack foods which, while they may be great for the kids’ lunchboxes, suck for my figure – i feel i’d have much more willpower if i lived alone as i wouldn’t buy any of that crap to begin with! any solutions to my willpower woes?
Hi, good to hear that you will be writing a book enabling us to download the same. I had a great time using your workout routines and look to see more of the same especially workouts for the tummy and butt. Regards, preeta
My problem is I have a full time job, sitting at a computer all the time, and a family to look after when I get home. By the time they are in bed, I am too tired to do any exercise, and have other tasks to carry out.
And I don’t have time or patience to cook healthy food, so often go for the fastest option, ie frozen premade stuff.
I think my body weight is evenly distributed because people who see me, dont call me I am fat. But I personally feel that I have fat stocked up on my upper part of the body especially on my chest and abs.
I prefer an exercise video of 40 to 50 mins targeting the entire body which can be done everyday.
I exercise at home and the biggest challenge I face is I exercise for a week and then I stop.
Also regarding the diet, I prefer an Indian diet plan. I am a lacto ova vegetarian. I am sure that you are getting a lot of Indian visitors to your site and a vegetarian indian diet will be really helpful. I can spare 1 hour to cook my food. Vegan indians mainly eat lots of beans, sprouts, lentils, veggies, rice and wheat tortillas. They cook all of these with lots and lots of spices. So the dishes will be very hot and spicy
I am sure that it will be difficult for you to find an indian diet. But thanks for letting me share my problems and thank you for sharing such a wonderful site.
My biggest challenge is that I have no enough time to exercise and I don’t know what to eat.
